ABOUT THE ROLE
Product Manager for Ovoko’s Chat owns a core layer of Ovoko’s marketplace infrastructure: the communication system that captures real buyer intent, exposes missing information about parts, and directly impacts whether a transaction stays on-platform or leaks away. It is the point at which trust is created or lost, and where part-level gaps become immediately visible.
Chat combines direct commercial impact (conversion, GMV uplift, leakage reduction) with deep product insight. Chat interactions reveal why buyers hesitate, what information they cannot find, and which part attributes or listing elements need improvement. As a Product Manager for Chat, you will own both commercial business metrics and the signals engine that generates insights for the product teams.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL
Own the roadmap: Decide how messaging/chat products evolve, what features need to be built to maximize the value that the chat brings to our users.
Lead discovery: Spend significant time with sellers and buyers digging into their pain points, testing new ideas and features,and combing through data to identify long-termand short-term opportunities.
Translate insights into initiatives: Turn user and data findings into clear business cases, scopes, and requirements.
Execution: Work hands-on with engineers, designers, support, and AMs to deliver high-quality features on time.
Measure impact: Track KPIs like product adoption, system performance for already existing systems and come up with new metrics to measure net new features that you will roll out.
Act as the bridge: Align internal teams (Engineering, Sales, Support, Legal, Security, Account Management, Data and the Design).
Champion the user: Advocate for solutions that create a satisfying user experience for the seller and help their employees perform their daily duties efficiently.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
3+ years experience as a Product Manager/Product Owner for B2B SaaS, ERP or workflow management software products.
Hands-on experience with experimentation: forming hypotheses, running A/B tests and interpreting results.
You treat strategy as a hypothesis and adjust quickly when data or users prove you wrong.
Strong user research skills, empathy, and willingness to get your hands dirty working in a real scrap yard environment to better understand the challenges and flows that Ovoko sellers are going through every day.
Structured problem solver who can break down messy problems into clear, actionable steps.
Strong technical insight - able to discuss APIs, integrations, and backend logic with engineers.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to change.
Data-driven mindset, comfortable with operational and customer-facing metrics.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to influence without authority.
NICE TO HAVE
Experience with two-sided marketplaces or messaging and chat products.
Experience in trust & safety or fraud prevention, including detection, false-positive management and abuse patterns.
Experience shipping AI/LLM-powered features, e.g. suggested replies, automated flows or translation.
Knowledge of the automotive or car parts domain.
