Supervises a team providing skilled mechanical maintenance, repair and modification of heavy duty, medium duty and light duty vehicles and on and off road equipment along with small marine engines and specialized light duty equipment. Will be responsible for some financial resources, budgeting, and overall fleet management. Successful candidates will need to become familiar with the collective agreement and addressing employee concerns. Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician OR Truck and Transport Mechanic Certified Journeyperson*
* Occupational certification to be interprovincial or completed in the province of BC.EXPERIENCE
• EX1: Experience in the supervision and delivery of minor and major servicing and repairs to a variety of diesel and gasoline powered motor vehicles.
• EX2: Experience in the supervision of employees involved in garage operations.
• EX3: Experience in the management of financial resources and contracting for services.
• EX4: Experience using computer systems to manage fleet data, generate work orders and reports, and track inventory.Applied / assessed at a later dateKNOWLEDGE
• K1: Knowledge of safety regulations and safe work practices common to garage operations.
• K2: Knowledge of preventative maintenance and troubleshooting techniques and practices.ABILITIES
