JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
MaterialsResearch Institute (MRI) is currently seeking a Part-Time building facility and safety support assistant approximately 10-16hrs/week as needed.This position would perform a variety of tasks associated with supportof research laboratories in the Millennium Science Complex (MSC). The position will work alongside the MRI technical service team to support core laboratory facilities, faculty labsand safety.
Duties would include:
assistingon facility inspections
research equipment and parts inventory,
basic laboratory set-ups and projects.
Recordkeeping and organization in this position is a must, and the individual will be requiredto take appropriate laboratorysafety training. Mechanical skills and an eagerness to learn are necessary, requiring the candidate to learn about multiple different laboratories and research equipment. This is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the various core user facilities and PI laboratories continue to operatealong with the ability to learn and work in a uniquely designed building built specifically for specialized research equipment.
