Responsibilities

Project Description:

• Provides the research, development, evaluation, and demonstration of concepts, technologies, and capabilities to satisfy specific customer research requirements in specific areas.

Job Description:

• The team is seeking an experienced application developer to be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying a complex and scalable web application that leverages a Kubernetes cluster to orchestrate a collection of containerized services.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development:

• Design and develop robust and scalable web application architecture.
• Develop and implement RESTful APIs and microservices using Python or Java.
• Develop and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Design and implement data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and serving data to the web application.
• Develop and implement data visualization and interactive dashboards using libraries like Solid, React, or JQuery.

Integration, Testing, & Deployment:

• Write and execute unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests.
• Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Deploy and maintain the web application in a production environment.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate effectively with data scientists, engineers, and product managers.
• Communicate technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Highly Desired Skills:

• Understanding of Kubernetes concepts such as deployments, services, pods, namespaces, and resource management.
• Experience with Ontology Web Language (OWL) or Resource Description Framework (RDF).
• Experience with Kubernetes operators and custom resource definitions (CRDs).
• Experience with Kubernetes monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Experience with Apache Spark is a plus.
• Experience with a cloud platform such as AWS.

Qualifications

Required Technical Skills:

• Experience with Python or Java.
• Experience with web application development frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django, Spring Boot).
• Experience with data pipelines and data processing tools.
• Experience with REST (Representational State Transfer).
• Experience with Java, Python.
• Experience Data visualization and interactive dashboards libraries (Solid, React, or JQuery)
• Familiar with Kubernetes & operators and custom resource definitions (CRDs).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Basic Requirements:

• Active TS/SCI with current Polygraph required
• Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Four (4) additional years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
