Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the availability and throughput of our IoT pipeline and analytics services on IBM Cloud. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud services, automation, and monitoring, with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable systems.

What You'll Do

• Monitor ingestion pipelines, message brokers, and API latency; manage alerts to ensure system reliability.
• Automate deployments, scaling, and failover processes for streaming workloads to enhance operational efficiency.
• Tune throughput, partitioning, and storage solutions for high-volume vehicle data to optimize performance.
• Manage IBM Cloud services, networking, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies to maintain system integrity.

Mandatory Skills

• Proficient in IBM Cloud services and architecture.
• Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka and MQTT.
• Familiarity with databases like Cloudant and Db2.
• Strong Linux system administration skills.
• Proficient in automation using Python or Go.
• Experience with monitoring tools and techniques.
• Understanding of networking concepts and TLS protocols.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with IoT systems and data pipelines.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience in performance tuning and optimization of cloud services.
