Projects & Operations Coordinator

LOCATION: Sterling Heights, MI, USA, Office based

WORKING HOURS: Monday - Thursday 7.00am - 4.30pm, Friday 7.30am - 4pm

Join the Pineapple team!

We're looking for a motivated Projects & Operations Coordinator to join our growing US team in Sterling Heights. If you're looking for an opportunity to work for a global company where your ideas are valued and your contribution makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

About Pineapple

Pineapple is a global leader in designing innovative furniture solutions for challenging environments. Founded in 1975 as a family-run business, we now operate worldwide with offices in the UK, France, Germany, and the USA, employing over 200 people globally.

We design furniture that supports calm, safety, and wellbeing-combining functionality, sustainability, and great design.

About the role

The Projects & Operations Coordinator plays a valuable role in overseeing the special projects and installs portion of our service, alongside assisting with the day to day operation. You will project manage remotely or on site, resolve special warranty repairs and issues, and assist with warehouse and administrative functions of the operations department when necessary. The right candidate is a proactive self-starter who thrives in collaborative team environment and brings a positive, can-do attitude to every task.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee and lead special projects, installation jobs, and white glove services both on-site or in person.
  • Travel occasionally to perform site surveys of install sites prior to install to ensure site readiness.
  • Lead and coordinate third party contractors or teams both on-site or remotely to ensure they adhere to Pineapple’s service levels and represent the company properly.
  • Keep track and create reports of projects to ensure costs properly remain within set margins and ensure finished projects are documented and signed off.
  • Travel to perform special furniture repairs and/or special install requests.
  • Provide quotes for installation projects, white glove services, and upholstery work in conjunction with the sales team.
  • Support general warehouse duties, including goods in / out duties, including some heavy lifting when preparing orders.
  • Assist with logistics functions within the department and perform basic customer service (order tracking, general inquiries, installation questions).
  • Perform data entry for proper record keeping and cost management.
  • Perform additional ad hoc tasks and be the go to person within the operations team, always ready to lend a hand.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Ideally a background in operations and project administration, ideally within an operational / logistics role. This position is a split between warehouse work, general administration, and project management.
  • Forklift experience and OSHA knowledge are a big plus but not essential.
  • Excellent IT skills with competent use of Microsoft Office (mainly Outlook and Excel).
  • People focused, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Willing and able to lift and move heavy items in a warehouse environment.
  • Willing to travel as necessary across the North American region to oversee or perform work on client sites.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and keep track of deadlines and reports.
  • Confident, approachable and willing to assist with urgent issues.
  • Willing and able work within tight deadlines and fast paced workdays.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • High appreciation for accountability, punctuality, & routine.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
