Software Engineer

Planlogic supports Australia’s financial advice industry by helping advisers deliver high-quality, compliant financial plans. With teams across Sri Lanka, India, and the Philippines, our operations rely on secure, high-performing technology systems. We're looking for a Software Engineer to join Planlogic's core tech team. You'll work on building new features, maintaining existing systems, and improving reliability and performance across the stack.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

• Design and build full-stack systems using React, Next.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python and .NET to support Planlogic's operations and client delivery.
• Develop secure APIs and services with OAuth2/OpenID Connect authentication, working across PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Cosmos DB and Redis for performant data handling.
• Build cloud-native architecture on Azure, using Docker, Terraform and microservices patterns, including integrations with platforms like Xplan.
• Apply AI technologies (Azure OpenAI, AI agents, RAG, workflow automation) to internal tools and product features.
• Maintain code quality and reliabilit y through code reviews, testing, CI/CD via GitHub and production troubleshooting within ISO 27001 security standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations and business teams - translating requirements into technical solutions, documenting systems/APIs and participating in agile ceremonies.

What We're Looking For:

• 1-3 years of professional software engineering experience, strong in React, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python and .NET.
• Data & infrastructure: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Redis, plus hands-on Azure, Docker, GitHub, Terraform, and modern DevOps (cloud-native, microservices).
• Security: solid grasp of auth/API security (OAuth2, OpenID Connect) and data privacy practices, especially given ISO 27001 and sensitive financial data handling.
• Ways of working: comfortable in agile, cross-functional teams; strong independent problem-solving with distributed/offshore teams across time zones

Nice to have:

• Exposure to AI (Azure OpenAI, AI agents, RAG, workflow automation) is a plus.

•Fintech/wealthtech background or experience integrating financial planning/CRM platforms (e.g. Xplan) is a plus.
