Summary
As Course Director at Platzi you own educational initiatives end to end - courses, live classes, events, and product collaborations: what we teach, who teaches it, how it gets made, and how it lands. You work with the teachers you choose and coach, with Postproduction, and with Growth and Engineering on how learning actually happens inside the platform.
At any given time you're running 2 to 3 initiatives in parallel, each at a different stage and often on completely different topics. You also decide when each course goes out, reading timing, market demand and data so the launch lands where it matters.
This is not an academic role. It's a creative and hands-on one. You treat a course like a product: you have a hypothesis about what will work, you run it, you look at what happened, and you change it. You think in formats and narrative before you think in syllabus.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Own your initiatives end to end: from deciding what's worth teaching, through production, to launch and what happens after.
- Design the experience, not just the content: formats, dynamics and projects that people finish.
- Run experiments on your courses and kill what doesn't work, even when it was your idea.
- Choose, onboard and coach teachers, and hold the standard when a class isn't good enough.
- Work with Engineering on what the platform should do differently for students to learn better.
- Own your numbers: started, enrollment and completion, and build with AI to make production faster without lowering the bar.
Requirements
- At least 4 years in education or digital content and creative production.
- You've made content yourself and it worked. You can show it and explain why it worked.
- Product mindset: you frame what you build as a hypothesis and you know what would prove you wrong.
- Creative judgment that's digital-first, with obsessive attention to detail, you can tell a format that engages from one that only looks reliable, and you catch what others miss before it ships.
- "Comfortable using AI tools (LLMs, copilots, automation platforms) as part of your everyday workflow."
- Experience coaching teachers, creators or talent, with empathy and a high bar.
- Fluent English and Spanish.
