Playtech’s Billing Tech Team is looking for a proactive and motivated Software Engineer to join the team on a part-time basis as Military Leave Cover. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of Python-based applications, work on both frontend and backend solutions, and participate in different stages of the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers and internal stakeholders to deliver reliable, maintainable, and high-quality solutions.

To ensure a successful onboarding experience and close collaboration with the team, employees are expected to work from the office five days per week during the first 6 months of probation. Following the probation period, the role transitions to a hybrid working model, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely each week.

Your influential mission. You will...

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Python-based applications while collaborating with team members on solution design and implementation
• Contribute to the development of both frontend and backend features
• Participate in different stages of the software development lifecycle
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code while continuously developing your engineering skills
• Create and maintain unit tests to support application quality and reliability
• Assist with application monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
• Participate in requirements discussions, solution design, and the preparation of technical documentation
• Provide technical support to internal users when required
• Work closely with the team to solve technical challenges and deliver high-quality solutions

Components for success. You...

• Bring 2+ years of experience in software development
• Have solid hands-on experience with Python development and software engineering best practices
• Have hands-on experience working with SQL and relational databases
• Have experience developing and supporting web applications
• Hold an IT-related university degree or equivalent education, or are currently studying in a relevant field
• Understand core software development principles and have basic knowledge of Agile methodologies
• Demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Communicate effectively in spoken and written English
• Are motivated, curious, eager to learn, and comfortable collaborating with others
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and are open to feedback and continuous development

You'll get extra points for...

• Basic knowledge or hands-on experience with the Django framework
• Familiarity with Oracle databases
• Previous practical experience with Python through internships, university projects, personal projects, or commercial development
• Basic exposure to both frontend and backend development
