Senior Product Designer

Hey! We’re Plum, your smart saving and investing app on a mission to help grow money for life. Whether you’re stashing the cash for tea and toast in your first home or catching some rays during retirement, Plum’s got your back.

Since 2016, over 2 million people in 10 European markets have set aside more than £2 billion with our clever automation and AI - that’s the magic of Plum! As recognition for our work, we’ve received awards from the likes of Deloitte, Finder, and more.

That’s all down to our passionate team of 200+ Plumsters, who work around Europe to help us achieve our mission. And now we’re looking for more brilliant people to join us on our journey.

The Role

As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll be working on improving the customer experience and building towards our mission. This is a hands-on IC role, where you’ll spend your time designing parts of the Plum product within a cross-functional team.

What You Will Do

• Solve user problems from beginning to end. From carrying out research to implementing your polished flows and interactions with engineers
• Collaborate with other designers to establish Plum’s design processes, tooling setup and core principles
• Sketch and prototype ideas with your team, to assess their viability before fleshing out the finer details and interactions
• Use research and testing to validate your work and build empathy and further understanding of Plum’s users
• Partner with Product Managers, to define how the product works and what it looks like in future iterations
• Work closely with Engineers to build, iterate and ship your ideas

Who You Are

• A product thinker - you care about why you’re designing something and what impact it will have for the user
• Someone who has a design process that puts the human first. You use data and research where necessary, and validate design through testing
• A brilliant communicator - you can explain and rationalise the reasons for your design decisions, and can receive and give constructive feedback
• Able to work independently, but also know when to work with other designers and when to ask for help
• Fluent in designing for mobile devices and with a strong portfolio of projects showing your interaction and visual design skills
• Someone who understands how digital products get built, and you have experience shipping them
• Fluent in iOS and Android design systems and know when to reuse existing patterns versus going custom. And importantly, you know chips, toasts and snack bars are more than just tasty treats
