About the team
Automation Testing builds how developers test and automate their APIs, from local runs and CI pipelines to scheduled and large-scale runs in the cloud.
About the role
You'll lead a few areas within Automation Testing and own the end-to-end product experience, from what we build to how it ships and runs. You'll stay hands-on, working alongside the staff and senior engineers who shape the technical direction.
What you'll do
- Own the end-to-end experience of your areas, across engineering, product and design
- Set technical direction with staff and senior engineers, and grow senior engineers into leads
- Hire, coach and grow engineers
- Own delivery and operational health: planning, commitments, on-call, incidents and customer escalations
- Partner with product, design, platform and customer-facing teams
What we're looking for
- 8+ years in software engineering, including 2+ years managing engineers
- A record of building products and scaling them: in users, in reliability and in the team behind them
- A keen product and design eye: you care how the experience works end to end, not just whether it ships
- Hands-on with AI-native engineering: you use agents in your own work, and have brought them into how a team builds and operates
- Experience leading teams that include experienced senior engineers
- A strong individual-contributor background in backend or distributed systems, or developer tools
Nice to have
- Experience building products for developers or other engineers
- Experience with API testing, developer tools or test automation

At Postman we value in person collaboration. We are in office 5 days a week for all roles based out of our hubs in San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Austin, New York City, Tokyo and London. For roles based in Bangalore, employees currently work in the office three days a week and will transition to five days per week by the end of the year. We were thoughtful in our approach which is based on collaboration and grounded in feedback from our workforce, leadership team, and peers. The benefits of our in office model will be shared knowledge, brainstorming sessions, communication, and building trust in-person that cannot be replicated via zoom.
