The Opportunity:
We are looking to hire an Operations Supervisor for our Parcel Delivery Services Facility in New Brunswick. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for directing the daily activities of the warehouse, including labour scheduling, supervision and the proper utilization of manpower, equipment and space for the safe, high-quality and productive delivery of parcels to the client.
What you'll do:
Direct the operations of the warehouse personnel to achieve outlined objectives, organize daily meetings / regular communication to establish clear, ambitious and attainable goals across operations, quality and service, QSHE, profitability, etc.
Develop and direct work plans to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times, including long range planning of labour needs based on customer sales forecasts and Management input;
Together with the Distribution Center Manager, establish and ensure the execution of operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, scanning of inbound parcels, sortation to route level, handling and disposition of materials and inventory accuracy, and driving active safety programs
Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility and of all warehouse equipment, identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities, and together with the Distribution Centre Manager implement a “lean” culture.
Develop, implement and direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property according to company policies and procedures, ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization, and monitor safety, physical security and operational metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Continuously assess, train, coach, mentor and develop personnel both informally and through formal training programs, provide job performance based feedback
Ensure that all quality and regulatory requirements of Health Canada and other applicable authorities and client requirements are met
Comply with all Quality, Health, Safety & Security programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property
Strive for continuous improvements in all facets of warehouse operations
Ensures positive customer service relations with a variety of internal customers, external vendors, and government regulators
Report operational issues and IT issues

Conduct business with honesty, trustworthiness and respect in all actions and behaviour
Support, mentor, and coach Supervisors to build talented teams who deliver exceptional customer experiences
Coordinates recruitment process for operations
Motivate and develop Team Members by providing regular feedback, documenting performance, and completing on-time performance appraisals
Coach and train supervisor management to maintain the highest level of personal and team productivity by ensuring strong technical skills and on-going product knowledge
Ensure all SOP’s and company policies are implemented and consistently communicated and executed
Ensure that Team Members understand and comply with company standards, policies and procedures including health and safety, loss prevention, food safety and human resource policies
Implementing Polices and Standard Operating Procedures
Responsible to implement and train team members on all policies and procedures including: Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety Training including equipment training, WorkSafe, Loss Prevention, Human Resource Policies
Who you are:
Post-secondary College education with a focus on Leadership, logistics and supply chain an asset
5 years of Management experience in a DC/Logistics environment with exposure to advance Warehouse Management Systems preferred
Proven ability to manage projects with a short to medium term focus while concurrently managing day-to-day operations
Advanced knowledge of Company/Industry policies and procedure and practices including but not limited to: Employment Standards, WCB, Health & Safety and Loss Prevention practices
Up to date knowledge of the activities, competition, as well as current and upcoming trends and regulatory issues within the retail industry
Strong leadership and change management skills
Excellent organization, planning, and documentation skills
Innovative problem solving and sound decision-making abilities
Strong customer service skills are required.
Material handling equipment certification
Ability to verbally communicate with customers and staff to understand what is required.
Strong computer skills required, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite of product
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a warehouse environment with frequent exposure to adverse conditions
The work involves occasional periods of intense sensory effort as well as occasional periods of considerable physical effort
Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities with regular deadlines
Ability to work a variety of shifts including - evenings, weekends and holidays as business needs require
Compensation:
Employment offers presented to the selected candidate are based on a combination of qualifications, experience, responsibilities of the role and the candidate's location.
Base Salary: $42,001-$52,000
