Founded in 1989, it works on projects in Florida, Texas, Virginia, Alabama and other states, runs a distribution center in Manatee County and has a design and technology team in Heredia, Costa Rica, with BIM capabilities. About the Position

The Workforce Specialist helps bring Power Design’s workforce development strategy to life by keeping programs, partnerships, grants, and stakeholder engagements organized and moving forward. This role serves as the central coordination point for the Workforce Intelligence function, supporting outreach, grant activity, meeting preparation, program logistics, and follow-through.

Working closely with internal leaders and external partners, including schools, colleges, trade programs, workforce boards, associations, and community organizations, you’ll help turn conversations and commitments into clear actions, strong relationships, and measurable progress.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing details while representing Power Design with professionalism and credibility.

Position Details/Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Build the Nation (BTN) outreach with schools, colleges, trade programs, associations, workforce boards, and community organizations, tracking contacts, commitments, and next steps through completion.
  • Research grant and funding opportunities that support workforce development; maintain an organized tracker of deadlines, requirements, and submission status; and help assemble required materials.
  • Prepare for stakeholder and leadership meetings by coordinating schedules, developing agendas, organizing briefing materials and pre-read packets, capturing notes, and documenting follow-up items.
  • Support logistics for career fairs, school visits, partner site tours, apprenticeship events, program launches, and other workforce development initiatives.
  • Convert meeting outcomes into clear, tracked action items and follow up with assigned owners to ensure commitments are completed.
  • Maintain the Workforce Intelligence knowledge repository so partner records, grant files, process documentation, and program history remain current, organized, and accessible.
  • Build and maintain trackers, dashboards, and status reports that give leadership visibility into partnership, grant, outreach, and program activity.
  • Serve as a professional point of contact for external partners and help ensure a consistent, positive Power Design experience.
  • Support the Director of Workforce Intelligence with correspondence, calendar coordination, research, and preparation of executive-level deliverables.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and projects as the Workforce Intelligence function continues to grow.

Here’s What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in program coordination, administrative support, partnership coordination, project support, or a related role.
  • Experience supporting construction, workforce development, education, nonprofit, or community-based organizations is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders at the same time.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills, with confidence interacting with external partners and senior leaders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams; experience with SharePoint, Asana, or similar tools preferred.
  • Experience researching, tracking, or reporting on grants and funding opportunities is preferred.
  • Discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for partner meetings, events, school visits, and site tours.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salaries offered.
  • Flexible and hybrid work options, where applicable.
  • A headquarters campus featuring an on-site café, fitness center, game room with golf simulator, scooters, lake path, training facility, and tobacco-free environment.
  • An award-winning culture focused on people, growth, and doing great work together.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan and flexible spending accounts.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Employee discounts, wellness programs, and Care.com benefits.
