Senior BI Developer (m/f/d)

Purpose

The Senior BI Reporting and Dashboard Developer is part of the central T-Systems Digitalization Unit and is responsible for analysing reporting requirements and translating them into reliable, user-friendly dashboards and reports. The role combines business analysis, data analysis, reporting development, data modelling, and quality assurance. It acts as an interface between business stakeholders, solution architects, data engineers, and technical teams, ensuring that reporting solutions provide accurate, consistent, and actionable information across the organisation. The primary technology focus of the position is SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence. Therefore, candidates are expected to have very strong practical knowledge and hands-on experience with SAP BO WebI. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power BI is also required as the secondary reporting and visualisation technology.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Analyze business requirements for reports, dashboards, KPIs, and analytical solutions.
• Identify required source data, business rules, calculations, dimensions, measures, and reporting dependencies.
• Design the information architecture, layout, navigation, and visual structure of reports and dashboards.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain reporting solutions primarily using SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence.
• Develop and maintain additional dashboard and reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI.
• Create vizualizations, filters, prompts, variables, calculations, drill-downs, and reusable reporting components.
• Perform business and data analysis, including analysis of ServiceNow and other operational data.
• Support solution architects and data engineers in designing reporting-specific data models.
• Define facts, dimensions, hierarchies, measures, and relationships within the semantic layer.
• Validate data quality and reconcile reported results with source systems.
• Perform end-to-end functional and data-quality testing of reports and dashboards.
• Support user acceptance testing, deployment, documentation, maintenance, and issue resolution.
• Cooperate with international customers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams within the central T-Systems organization.

YOU WILL SUCCEED IF YOU:

Fulfill education and Experience Requirements:

• University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Analytics, or a comparable field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in BI frontend development, reporting, or data analytics.
• Experience in translating business requirements into reliable reporting solutions.
• Experience working in international or centralised enterprise IT environments is an advantage.

Have these Technical Skills Requirements:

• Primary requirement: Very good knowledge of SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence, including:
  • report development and maintenance,
  • queries and data providers,
  • variables and calculations,
  • prompts, filters, sections, and breaks,
  • drill-down and report navigation,
  • data validation and troubleshooting,
  • report performance optimisation.
• Secondary requirement: Very good knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, including:
  • report and dashboard development,
  • data modelling,
  • DAX,
  • Power Query,
  • interactive visualisations,
  • performance optimisation,
  • security and publishing concepts.
• Good knowledge of relational and dimensional data modelling.
• Understanding of fact and dimension tables, star schemas, hierarchies, and semantic-layer concepts.
• Good SQL knowledge is highly desirable.
• Experience with ServiceNow data and IT service reporting is an advantage.
• Good understanding of data-quality, testing, and reconciliation methods.
• Good knowledge of ITIL processes and IT service-management concepts.

• Very good written and spoken German and English.

Salary

Final salary is negotiable.

We are offering base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to base salary we provide variable part and other financial benefits. Base salary will not be lower than 3100€ /brutto.
