About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior PostgreSQL DBA with strong Linux administration and command-line expertise to manage, optimize, and support enterprise database environments. The ideal candidate should have deep PostgreSQL experience, exposure to SQL development, performance tuning, automation, cloud databases, and production support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, monitor, and support PostgreSQL databases across development, testing, and production environments.
- Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Troubleshoot performance issues, optimize queries, indexing, and execution plans.
- Manage PostgreSQL databases in Linux environments using command-line tools.
- Implement and support replication, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Support database migrations, modernization initiatives, and cloud adoption projects.
- Develop and maintain SQL, Bash, or Python scripts for automation and database administration.
- Collaborate with Development, Infrastructure, and DevOps teams on deployments, releases, and performance improvements.
- Monitor database health, capacity, security, and operational compliance.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Database Administration and SQL Development.
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL Administration in Linux environments.
- Good understanding of SQL Server Administration and database migration projects.
- Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with PostgreSQL replication, HA/DR solutions, and production support.
- Proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
- Experience with AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, or other cloud-managed database platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Bash, Python, or automation scripting.
