  • Assist project managers with work planning, staffing, schedules, budgets, progress tracking, and client coordination.
  • Identify technical issues and develop practical, constructible, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Perform interdisciplinary reviews and participate in quality-control reviews at established project milestones.
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to engineers, designers, and CADD staff.
  • Review the work of junior staff for technical accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Participate in field investigations, project meetings, design reviews, and construction-phase support activities.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, agency representatives, subconsultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Assist with scopes of work, fee estimates, proposals, and interviews when requested.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with NYSDOT project-development procedures, design deliverables, CADD standards, specifications, and electronic submission requirements.
  • Experience with Bentley ProjectWise or similar document-management and collaboration platforms.
  • Experience developing 3D roadway models and model-based design deliverables.
  • Experience with public-agency or municipally funded roadway reconstruction, rehabilitation, safety, or complete-streets projects.
  • Experience coordinating utility, drainage, traffic, environmental, and right-of-way considerations.
  • Experience leading design tasks or small project teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Construction support or construction inspection experience.
  • Familiarity with federal-aid project requirements and applicable FHWA guidance.
