With 30,000 employees across more than 50 countries, every person at Prysmian has the opportunity to make their mark.

Position Summary:

Prysmian is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to support the continued growth of our Data Center business. This highly visible role sits at the intersection of market strategy, customer engagement, and new product development, helping drive the next generation of cable solutions for one of the fastest-growing infrastructure segments in the world.

The successful candidate will serve as the technical leader for Data Center cable solutions, working closely with customers, industry organizations, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to identify emerging needs, translate market requirements into product opportunities, and lead product development initiatives from concept through commercialization.

This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, market awareness, leadership, and customer engagement. The ideal candidate is comfortable representing Prysmian externally, influencing industry direction through standards organizations and technical committees, and collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, sales, and business teams to deliver solutions that meet evolving customer requirements.

Role Responsibilities:

Drive Data Center Product Strategy

  • Monitor market trends, customer requirements, emerging technologies, and competitive activity within the data center industry.

  • Identify growth opportunities and recommend product strategies that align customer needs with Prysmian's capabilities.

  • Serve as a key technical and market resource for Data Center initiatives across the organization.

Lead New Product Development

  • Define product requirements and guide new product development activities from concept through launch.

  • Partner with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams to develop innovative cable solutions for data center applications.

  • Support product qualification, validation, commercialization, and ongoing product improvement efforts.

Engage Customers and Industry Partners

  • Build relationships with customers, consultants, end users, suppliers, and industry stakeholders to understand current and future market needs.

  • Gather voice-of-customer feedback and translate insights into actionable product development opportunities.

  • Represent Prysmian during customer visits, technical discussions, and industry events.

Influence Industry Standards and Specifications

  • Participate in industry committees and standards organizations including UL, CSA, IEC, NEC, and customer specification groups.

  • Monitor changes to standards and regulations that impact products and market opportunities.

  • Support the development and interpretation of product specifications and compliance requirements.

Manage Product Lifecycle Activities

  • Support the full product lifecycle, including market assessment, product definition, development, launch, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.

  • Evaluate opportunities for portfolio expansion, product enhancements, and cost optimization initiatives.

  • Help ensure products remain aligned with customer expectations and evolving market requirements.

Collaborate Across the Organization

  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, operations, sales, marketing, and business leadership teams to execute strategic initiatives.

  • Provide regular updates and market insights to support business planning and decision-making.

  • Influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment on priorities, product direction, and development activities.

Represent Prysmian in the Marketplace

  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and technical forums to build relationships and identify emerging opportunities.

  • Act as a technical ambassador for Prysmian's Data Center business.

  • Travel to customer locations, Prysmian facilities, and industry events as required (20-30%).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Materials).

  • 5+ years of product development engineering experience - Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to technical product development projects, ideally involving complex engineered products with strict performance requirements.

  • Wire and cable industry experience - Direct background working with cable constructions, materials, standards, and manufacturing processes; familiarity with industry terminology and product lifecycles is essential.

  • Data center experience - Hands-on involvement with data center products, applications, or customer requirements, with an understanding of how cable solutions support data center infrastructure.

  • Experience with UL, CSA and NEC - Working knowledge of UL, CSA and NEC standards, testing requirements, and certification processes relevant to wire and cable products.

  • Experience with cable specifications - Ability to interpret, apply, and develop cable specifications, including performance criteria, materials, and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to work onsite 5 days per week - This role requires consistent onsite presence to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.

  • Leadership - Demonstrate the ability of influencing cross-functional teams, customer, suppliers and standard comities as an individual contributor, guiding teams toward clear decisions in complex environments.

  • Ability to travel 20-30% - Travel to customer sites, conferences, and internal locations to support product development, customer discussions, and market engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 - 10 years of product development engineering experience - Extensive experience driving product development initiatives from concept through commercialization, ideally within a technical or industrial environment.

  • Data center product experience from a cable/wire perspective - Direct experience designing, developing, or supporting cable products specifically used in data center applications.

  • Leadership experience - Prior experience leading projects, mentoring engineers, and influencing cross-functional teams.

  • Experience attending data center shows - Familiarity with industry events, customer discussions, and market-facing activities that support product strategy and opportunity identification, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Proactive and self-directed - Able to identify actionable items, take initiative, and move work forward confidently without guidance from leadership.
