Our client, a leading organisation within the financial services sector, is looking for an experienced AI Developer to join their Digitization and Automation team. This opportunity is based at the client's offices in Sandton on a 12-month contract.
POSITION INFO:
What you will be doing: Design, develop, test and implement AI agents and AI-powered solutions. Build solutions using Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio and Microsoft AI services. Configure prompts, orchestration logic, workflows, connectors and integrations. Support proofs of concept, pilots, production solutions, deployments and releases. Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions. Develop reusable components, patterns and accelerators for AI solution delivery. Integrate AI solutions with enterprise applications and data sources. Support testing, defect resolution, debugging and performance optimisation. Produce technical documentation and implementation guides. Follow established engineering standards and software development practices. Participate in peer reviews and code reviews. Ensure AI solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable and aligned with architecture principles. Contribute to the continuous improvement of AI development practices. Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, developers, testers and product owners. Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and delivery activities. Share knowledge, demonstrate completed solutions and contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions. Contribute to reusable AI assets and accelerators that improve delivery efficiency. Support the adoption of Microsoft AI technologies and contribute to the team's technical capabilities. What we are looking for: Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related technical field. 2-5 years of software development experience. Proven experience delivering solutions within an enterprise environment. Hands-on experience with Microsoft AI technologies. Practical experience with Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Services and Azure OpenAI . Understanding of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). Experience building, configuring and deploying AI agents. Experience building and deploying AI or automation use cases. API integration experience and an understanding of authentication and security principles. Experience testing, debugging and troubleshooting software solutions. Understanding of secure, scalable and maintainable software development practices. Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to produce clear technical documentation. Good communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams in an Agile delivery environment. Commitment to continuous learning, innovation and engineering best practices. Advantageous Skills and Experience: Experience with Microsoft Power Platform. Experience with Azure Functions and Azure Logic Apps. Experience with Microsoft Graph and custom connectors. Experience with Microsoft Fabric. Knowledge of DevOps and CI\/CD practices. Experience with Python, JavaScript, C#, Java or a related development language. Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Applied Skills: Build AI Apps with Azure AI Foundry. Microsoft Copilot Studio certification. Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate. Microsoft Azure Fundamentals. Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals.
