We’relooking for aSoftware Development Managerto lead a team working on backend systems builtmainly onaJava / Spring / Oracle / PostgreSQL stack.This is a hands-on leadership role focused onrunning a stable team, delivering reliably.
What YouwillDo:
Team Management
Manage a team of software engineers (typically 5-10 people)
Handle hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and day-to-day support
Keep the team productive, focused, and unblocked
Support engineers in their technical and career growth
Delivery
Own delivery of features and improvements from planning to release
Work with product and stakeholders to agree on scope and timelines
Track progress, manage risks, and step in when things drift
Technical Oversight
Stay close enough to the code to understand challenges and trade-offs
Review and guide design decisions (mainly withinan existing monolithic system)
Ensure code quality, consistency, and maintainability
Help the team make pragmatic decisions (not over-engineering solutions)
Systems & Stack
Backend development inJava (Spring ecosystem)
Databases:Oracle and PostgreSQL
Primarilymonolithic applications, with some modularization efforts where needed
Collaboration
Work with QA, product managers, and other teams
Communicate clearly on progress, blockers, and trade-offs
Represent the team in planning and coordination discussions
Requirements:
Solid background inJava backend development(5-10+ years)
Min 2 years of experience leading a team (or strong tech lead ready to step up)
Experience working onmonolithic systemsandmaintainingexisting production codebases
Good understanding ofSpring, relational databases, and backend architecture
Comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with people management
Nice to Have:
Experience withboth Oracle and PostgreSQL
Familiarity with legacy systems and gradual modernization
Experience improving development processes in a pragmatic way
