Electrical Safety Auditor (Part-time)

Our Consumer Goods Division is dedicated to helping brands, retailers and manufacturers worldwide deliver safe, quality and ethically made products to their consumers. Every day at work, our inspectors, auditors, and lab techs use their expertise to help safeguard the products you use every day in your home: from clothes and footwear to toys and baby products, to electronics, appliances, and furniture.

The Electrical Safety Auditor conducts on-site electrical safety audits at factory and industrial facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable international and national electrical standards, client requirements, and QIMA procedures.

The role is field-based, covering electrical system inspections, diagnostic testing, risk assessment, and audit reporting. The Auditor will primarily support clients across China, with potential assignments in Southeast Asia based on business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Field Audit Execution

• Conduct on-site electrical safety audits, including opening/closing meetings, document review, facility walkthroughs, and equipment inspections.
• Inspect electrical systems and equipment, including distribution panels, transformers, switchgear, generators, emergency power, and lightning protection systems.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including thermographic scanning, earth resistance, and insulation resistance testing.
• Verify Single Line Diagrams (SLD), load calculations, and system capacity against actual installations.
• Identify non-conformities, assess risk levels, and provide practical corrective recommendations.
• Prepare timely, evidence-based audit reports with photographs and applicable standard references.

Corrective Action & Follow-up

• Review corrective action evidence and provide technical clarification where required.
• Conduct follow-up visits to verify closure of critical and high-risk findings.

Standards & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable electrical safety standards, codes, and regulations.
• Keep audit practices aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Team Collaboration

• Provide technical support to auditors on electrical safety matters during multi-discipline audits.

- Participate in internal calibration sessions and quality improvement activities as required.

THE CANDIDATE

It could be you, if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical installation, inspection, maintenance, or safety auditing within industrial or factory environments; 7+ years preferred.
• Hands-on experience inspecting electrical panels, distribution systems, grounding, emergency power, and lightning protection systems.
• Experience with diagnostic testing, including thermographic scanning, earth/grounding resistance, and insulation resistance testing.
• Knowledge of international electrical standards (NFPA, IEC) and Chinese national standards (GB series).
• Chinese electrical certifications (e.g. Electrician Special Operation License, Registered Electrical Engineer) are preferred; international certifications such as NFPA, IECEx, or equivalent are an advantage.
• Good written and spoken English for technical reporting and client communication.
• Willingness to travel extensively across China and Southeast Asia, including overnight and multi-day assignments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with digital reporting or AI-assisted tools is an advantage.
