General Summary:
We are looking for an experienced SAIL Platform Lead to help shape the foundational software platform for next-generation automotive systems. This is a high-impact, hands-on technical leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of automotive SoC architecture, embedded software, functional safety, and system integration. You will set technical direction, lead complex platform development and bring-up, solve challenging hardware/software problems, and work across engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable, production-quality automotive software.
Responsibilities:
- Own the technical direction and architecture of the SAIL Platform.
- Lead development, integration, and bring-up across BSP, Bare Metal/RTOS, AUTOSAR, device drivers, and safety software.
- Drive system-level architecture and debugging across ARM-based automotive SoCs, including boot, interrupts, memory, clocks, power management, IPC, and peripheral subsystems.
- Develop robust solutions aligned with ISO 26262 functional safety requirements.
- Drive scalable and reusable platform solutions across multiple automotive SoCs and programs.
- Partner with hardware, systems, safety, validation, and software teams to solve complex cross-functional technical challenges.
- Lead architecture and design reviews while mentoring engineers and strengthening engineering practices across the organization.
This is an opportunity to take a platform-level technical leadership role in advanced automotive computing. You will influence architecture from the lowest levels of the SoC through BSP, safety, and system integration, while helping build a platform that can scale across multiple products and automotive programs.
If you combine deep embedded expertise, strong system-level thinking, and a passion for solving challenging hardware/software problems, we would like to hear from you.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- 3+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
- Significant experience in embedded and automotive software development, with demonstrated technical leadership.
- Deep hands-on expertise in BSP, device drivers, Bare Metal and/or RTOS-based systems.
- Strong understanding of AUTOSAR architecture and automotive embedded software.
- Strong knowledge of ARM and SoC architecture, including areas such as GIC, MPU/SMMU, TrustZone, clocks, memory, PMIC, IPC, and power management.
- Experience with key interfaces and peripherals such as Ethernet, PCIe, USB, UFS/storage, CAN, SPI, and I2C.
- Experience with ISO 26262, functional safety architecture, and safety-oriented software development.
- Proven ability to lead complex system-level debugging, SoC bring-up, and architecture decisions.
- Strong technical communication, collaboration, mentoring, and influencing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 16+ years of relevant embedded or automotive software experience.
- Experience providing technical leadership for a complex platform or subsystem spanning multiple engineering teams.
- Automotive SoC bring-up and production software delivery experience.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex system problems into clear architectural decisions and executable solutions.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and developing technical leaders.
- Ability to influence technical direction across teams and organizational boundaries.
