We are seeking a Director, IT Business Management in our Broomfield, CO, Location.
The Director, IT Business Management, will lead and integrate the management disciplines that enable a scalable, business-aligned, and high-performing IT organization. The scope includes Project and Program Management, Business Analysis, Business Relationship Management, IT Operations Management, IT Performance Management, IT Financial Management, IT Strategy, and Organizational Change Management.
This leader will be responsible for translating IT strategy into operational plans, governance, financial discipline, measurable performance, and effective business engagement. The role will own establishing practical standards and operating rhythms across the IT function, whilst directly overseeing delivery of priority initiatives and maturity improvements.
The Director will lead managers and practitioners across multiple management disciplines, partner closely with IT leaders and business stakeholders, and provide the VP of Information Technology with integrated visibility into priorities, performance, financials, risks, capacity, and organizational change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end oversight of the IT program and project portfolio, ensuring alignment to business priorities, IT strategy, capacity, dependencies, and expected value.
- Establish and continuously improve portfolio, program, project, and business analysis methods, governance, tools, and quality standards.
- Ensure initiatives have clear scope, business outcomes, success measures, resourcing, schedules, risks, and change plans.
- Directly oversee or lead select high-impact initiatives and escalations while developing program managers, project managers, and business analysts.
- Establish the Business Relationship Management discipline and a consistent engagement model between IT and business functions.
- Partner with business leaders to understand strategies, capabilities, pain points, demand, and opportunities; translate these into qualified and prioritized IT needs.
- Improve business transparency into IT priorities, decisions, service performance, and delivery commitments.
- Monitor stakeholder feedback and relationship health and coordinate actions that improve trust, alignment, and realized value.
- Lead IT financial management processes, including annual planning, forecasting, budget performance, investment tracking, cost transparency, and financial reporting.
- Partner with Finance, Procurement, and IT leaders on business cases, vendor economics, CAPEX and OPEX decisions, and financial risks.
- Connect financial and workforce plans to portfolio priorities, service needs, capacity, and expected outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to optimize spend, improve forecast accuracy, and strengthen benefits realization.
- Own the organizational change management framework for IT initiatives and operating-model changes.
- Ensure priority initiatives include stakeholder analysis, communications, readiness, training, adoption measures, reinforcement, and clear change ownership.
- Partner with business and IT leaders to address change impacts, improve adoption, and sustain expected outcomes.
- Build change capability across project teams, business analysts, managers, and sponsors.
- Build and operate an integrated Office of IT Management that connects strategy, portfolio delivery, business demand, operations, performance, finance, and organizational change.
- Define clear roles, services, decision rights, handoffs, standards, and operating cadences across the IT disciplines.
- Develop and execute a practical maturity roadmap for the function, prioritizing improvements that increase transparency, predictability, accountability, and business value.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to IT leadership on priorities, operating effectiveness, resource tradeoffs, and management practices.
- Coordinate development, refresh, and execution tracking of the IT strategy, multi-year roadmap, annual operating plan, and functional objectives.
- Translate strategic objectives into initiatives, outcomes, measures, ownership, investment needs, and execution plans.
- Establish management forums and governance processes for prioritization, decision-making, accountability, risk escalation, and progress review.
- Prepare concise, outcome-focused strategy and performance updates for IT and executive leadership.
- Establish an integrated management approach for IT operations, including operating rhythms, cross-functional reviews, key risks, dependencies, actions, and service improvement.
- Define and maintain an IT performance framework with KPIs, targets, scorecards, data ownership, reporting standards, and corrective-action processes.
- Partner with service owners and IT leaders to improve service accountability, operational discipline, decision quality, and continuous improvement.
- Provide integrated reporting across delivery, operations, financials, workforce, risk, and business outcomes.
- Lead, coach, and develop managers and practitioners across the Office of IT Management disciplines.
- Set clear accountabilities, performance expectations, career paths, and capability-development plans.
- Hire and retain strong talent and create a collaborative culture focused on ownership, service, evidence-based decisions, and continuous improvement.
- Develop succession and workforce plans aligned to the evolving needs of IT and the business.

YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree minimum
- 12+ years of progressive experience across IT management, portfolio or program management, business operations, strategy, finance, or related disciplines.
- 7+ years of people leadership experience, including leading managers or multiple professional disciplines.
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE:
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Experience building or maturing an Office of the CIO, Office of IT Management, Enterprise PMO, IT business management, or similar functions.
- Broad understanding of IT operating models, service management, enterprise applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and digital employee experience.
- Experience with ITIL, BRM, portfolio management, business analysis, performance management, and organizational change practices.
- PMP, PgMP, CBAP, BRMP, ITIL, Prosci, TBM, Six Sigma, or comparable certifications.
- Strong financial, analytical, facilitation, executive communication, and organizational-design skills.
- Experience operating in a fast-moving, scaling, and geographically distributed organization.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex technology and operating topics into business decisions and outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex IT portfolios, governance, planning, performance reporting, financial management, or organizational change.
