Senior Director, IT Engineering & Support - 1038

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise IT Strategy, Operating Model & Business Alignment

• Define and own the enterprise-wide IT Infrastructure engineering and support vision, multi-year strategy, target operating model, and investment roadmap aligned to corporate strategy and global growth.
• Shape enterprise IT priorities by advising executives on material trade-offs across cost, risk, resilience, scalability, speed, and employee experience.
• Sponsor business cases and secure executive alignment for major investments, sourcing decisions, and transformation programs.
• Align engineering and support strategy with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, applications, data, facilities, business continuity, and regional business priorities.

Global Engineering, Infrastructure & Service Outcomes

• Hold enterprise accountability for the reliability, scalability, lifecycle health, and supportability of networks, servers, cloud and on-premises platforms, endpoints, identity services, data centers, and related services.
• Establish a globally consistent, scalable service model with clear service ownership, decision rights, coverage expectations, and experience standards.
• Set IT enterprise performance expectations and govern a balanced scorecard of reliability, resilience, security, cost, delivery, and employee-experience outcomes.
• Lead and own the response to major incidents, continuity, and systemic remediation efforts when business impact or enterprise risk warrants senior leadership.
• Drive structural reduction of technical debt, preventable operational demand, and regional inconsistency through platform simplification, automation, and lifecycle discipline.

Executive Leadership, Organization & Talent

• Lead and develop a multi-layered global organization through directors, senior managers, managers, and technical leaders.
• Design the organization, leadership structure, location strategy, sourcing mix, and capability roadmap required to support long-term enterprise needs.
• Own leadership succession and bench strength for the function; coach senior leaders and establish consistent leadership expectations across regions.
• Build a high-accountability culture that balances strategic thinking, operational excellence, customer focus, collaboration, and disciplined execution.

Enterprise Governance, Security, Risk & Continuity

• Establish enterprise policies, standards, decision rights, and governance for IT infrastructure engineering and support, ensuring alignment with security, architecture, legal, and compliance requirements.
• Serve as a senior accountable leader for material infrastructure and support risks, ensuring ownership, investment decisions, remediation, and transparent executive reporting.
• Sponsor resilience, disaster recovery, crisis-readiness, and operational-continuity strategies for in-scope technology services.
• Ensure enterprise changes and transformations include effective operational readiness, service transition, adoption, and long-term support models.

Investment Portfolio, Financial & Strategic Vendor Leadership

• Own the multi-year investment portfolio and financial strategy for IT engineering and support, including CAPEX, OPEX, workforce, sourcing, and productivity commitments.
• Optimize the portfolio across run, grow, transform, risk reduction, and technical-debt priorities; redirect resources based on enterprise outcomes and changing business needs.
• Lead executive relationships with strategic vendors and partners, including commercial strategy, major negotiations, performance accountability, and sourcing decisions.
• Establish benefits realization and portfolio-governance disciplines that connect investment decisions to measurable enterprise outcomes.

Executive Partnership, Influence & Communication

• Act as an advisor to senior business, scientific, regional, and IT leaders on technology service strategy, risk, investment, and workforce productivity.
• Represent engineering and support priorities in enterprise planning and governance forums, driving decisions across organizational boundaries.
• Communicate strategy, service health, risk exposure, investment choices, and transformation progress to executive audiences with clarity and transparency.
• Travel to company locations as needed to strengthen executive partnerships, oversee critical delivery, and develop the global leadership team.
• Ability to travel up to 25%

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor’s degree minimum
• 15+ years of progressive enterprise technology experience, including infrastructure engineering and end-user support.
• 10+ years of people leadership experience, including leading leaders of leaders and multi-layered, geographically distributed organizations.
• Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
• Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

WE VALUE:

• Track record of materially improving global IT maturity, service performance, resilience, cost effectiveness, and employee experience at scale.
• Broad command of enterprise networks, cloud and on-premises infrastructure, data centers, endpoints, identity and access management, collaboration platforms, and service operations.
• Experience defining global operating models, organizational structures, service ownership, sourcing strategies, and leadership succession plans.
• Exceptional executive communication and influence, including the ability to frame consequential tradeoffs and gain alignment across diverse senior stakeholders.
• Strong financial acumen with experience governing multi-year portfolios, investment cases, productivity commitments, and benefits realization.
• Experience sponsoring enterprise technology transformations, major migrations, automation programs, and complex organizational change.
• Familiarity with ITIL and modern service-management practices; advanced ITIL, cloud, infrastructure, security, or program leadership certifications are valued.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and enterprise-wide accountability in a fast-paced, complex, global environment.
• Demonstrated enterprise accountability for critical infrastructure, global support services, material operational risk, and business continuity.
• Proven experience shaping multi-year strategy, leading major transformation, owning significant investment portfolios, and influencing executive decisions.
• Experience leading strategic vendors, complex commercial negotiations, and sourcing or operating-model decisions at enterprise scale.
