About the Role

We are hiring a hands-on Senior Java Spring Boot Engineer to lead backend technical design and deliver secure, reliable services. You will write production code, guide engineering standards, own complex integrations and mentor other developers while collaborating with QA and DevOps.

Nice to Have

• Experience with lending, banking, payments or other transaction-sensitive applications.
• Kafka or RabbitMQ, Redis, event-driven processing or distributed transactions.
• Spring Cloud, API gateways and service-to-service authentication.
• Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure and CI/CD experience.

Employment and Working Schedule

Full-time, on-site.

• Monday to Friday: full working days; Saturday: half day; Sunday: off.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain Java/Spring Boot APIs, business logic, microservices and existing monolithic services.
• Make sound architectural decisions about service boundaries, maintainability, scalability and technical tradeoffs.
• Own complex backend features and integrations with payment, banking or other external services.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL/MySQL schemas, SQL queries, indexes, migrations and transaction boundaries.
• Ensure correctness in critical workflows through idempotency, validation, transaction control, error handling, timeouts and safe retries.
• Implement and review authentication, authorization, role permissions and secure handling of sensitive data.
• Establish code quality practices, review pull requests and mentor mid-level developers.
• Implement appropriate unit and integration tests; improve diagnostics, logging and service observability.
• Lead analysis and remediation of difficult production issues, including integration errors and data inconsistencies.
• Coordinate backend releases with QA and DevOps, documenting dependencies, rollback risks and deployment requirements.
• Break down requirements, estimate technical work, and communicate progress, risks and decisions

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Java backend development, including significant Spring Boot experience.
• Strong Java 17+ skills, REST API design, object-oriented design and SOLID principles.
• Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate, Spring Security and Maven or Gradle.
• Strong PostgreSQL/MySQL SQL, schema design, optimization and transactional integrity knowledge.
• Hands-on microservices and third-party API integration experience.
• Experience with JWT, OAuth 2.0, role-based access controls and backend security.
• JUnit, Mockito and integration testing practices; Git and code review workflows.
• Practical Docker familiarity and production troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to lead technical problem-solving, guide colleagues and communicate clearly.
