About Us
QuantWare is building the world’s most powerful quantum processors to solve humanity's greatest challenges. We do this with our unique VIO™ technology, the only QPU architecture that breaks the hardware barriers that have held quantum computing back, unlocking the path to MegaQubit quantum processors.
With VIO, we are paving the way for the hyper-scale quantum computers that will change the world. And delivering on that vision demands people who don’t shy away from tackling the hardest challenges of our time. That’s where you come in!
As a Mechanical Engineer Quantum Hardware you will develop critical hardware components for our quantum processors including packaging, shielding and sample holders. Quantum processors are extremely sensitive devices, leading to challenging requirements on compactness, magnetic and radiation shielding and thermalisation. You will work with some of the smartest and most passionate people in the field, offering a great environment to learn. The packaging you design will house our quantum chips in state-of-the-art labs around the world, shaping how our customers interact with our products and accelerating the advent of quantum computing.
What You’ll Be Doing
Design, prototype, and iterate sample holders, magnetic shielding, brackets, and other components used to package, shield and mount quantum processors & amplifiers.
Taking ownership on projects: Work with design and measurement teams to collect product requirements (e.g., form factor, ease of use, high-density integration) and translate into practical, manufacturable designs.
Document designs, technical drawings, and best practices to support knowledge transfer and future scaling.
Select and manage suppliers, including overseeing outsourced manufacturing, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Your Profile
You don’t need to tick every box, but if most of these apply, we’d love to hear from you:
4+ years of experience in mechanical or hardware design with a proven track record of high-quality, manufacturable designs.
Experience in fields involving large temperature gradients, magnetic shielding, EM radiation protection, and/or thermalisation challenges is a strong plus
A proactive approach to design: collecting requirements, sharing sketches and prototypes for feedback, and involving the right stakeholders throughout the process.
Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
Experience with prototyping techniques such as 3D printing and/or CNC machining.
Experience with design of radiofrequency systems and / or PCBs is a differentiator.
Fluency in English.
Don't tick every box? Apply anyway! Research shows women often self-select out if they don't meet every requirement. Here's our take: nobody ticks every box. This is a description of our ideal candidate, not a filter. If most resonates and you're keen to learn the gaps, apply. We hire for trajectory, not perfection.
