Lead DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Tech Lead to lead our platform strategy and engineering culture. You will bridge the gap between application development and infrastructure, building the "paved road" that allows our engineering teams to ship high-quality code at scale quickly. You will own the architectural integrity of our cloud-native environment, drive our CI/CD philosophy, and mentor our engineering staff.

Responsibilities:

• Architectural Leadership: Collaborate closely with stakeholders on the Japan/India side and application teams to define and execute the long-term technical roadmap and bridge the gap between application development and infrastructure. The focus is on driving scalability, security, development efficiency and cost-efficiency, ensuring all initiatives are executed consistently and on schedule.
• Platform Engineering: Build and maintain internal developer platforms that abstract infrastructure complexity, allowing product teams to focus on feature delivery.
• Cloud-Native Strategy: Lead the migration, optimisation, and management of multi-cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) using Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• System Reliability (SRE): Establish SLOs/SLIs and incident response frameworks. You are the final point of escalation for critical system outages.
• Security & Governance: Implement "Security by Design" across the pipeline (DevSecOps), ensuring compliance and robust vulnerability management.
• Organisational Influence: Act as a force multiplier. Mentor senior engineers, lead design reviews, and foster a culture of engineering excellence and operational maturity.
• Performance Optimisation: Analyse system bottlenecks and cost drivers.

Requirements:

• Experience: 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or principal-level capacity.
• Core Engineering: Mastery of at least two backend languages (e. g., Shell scripting, Python, or Java).
• Infrastructure: Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes (K8S) and container orchestration at scale.
• CI/CD: Deep experience designing automated release pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or Jenkins).
• Cloud Architecture: Extensive experience with public cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) and cloud-agnostic design patterns.
• Distributed Systems: Proven track record of designing systems with high availability, low latency, and fault tolerance.
• Data/Observability: Expertise in observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog/New Relic).
