Raptive is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our Ad Code Core Engineering team. You’ll help build and evolve the technology that powers advertising across our publishers’ sites, working on challenging engineering problems at significant scale and contributing across different areas of our AdTech product.
We’re looking for an engineer who combines strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills with technical leadership, ownership, and an AI-forward approach to software development.
What you’ll be doing:
Build and evolve high-performance JavaScript and TypeScript libraries that run in browsers across thousands of publisher sites.
Develop advertising features and integrations that operate at significant scale, with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Lead projects from ambiguity through delivery, helping define the technical approach, identify risks, make tradeoffs, and drive work toward a measurable outcome.
Take ownership of your work beyond writing code, proactively following it through development, testing, release, measurement, and iteration.
Work directly with Product, Engineering, Quality, Data, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, communicate progress and risks, and make informed technical decisions.
Use AI as an integral part of your engineering workflow to improve development speed and quality, while applying sound judgment about when, how, and which AI tools to use.
Help develop repeatable AI-enabled workflows and engineering practices that make both developers and AI agents more effective.
Work across different areas of our AdTech product as priorities evolve, sometimes balancing multiple projects or responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
Advocate for strong engineering practices around maintainability, testing, performance, observability, and documentation.
Understand the business outcomes behind the features you build, use data to evaluate their impact, and contribute ideas for technical, product, and process improvements.
Help other engineers succeed through collaboration, code review, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
The skills and experience you bring:
Strong professional experience with JavaScript and TypeScript and modern software development practices.
A passion for maintainable code, automated testing, performance, and thoughtful software architecture.
Extensive experience integrating AI into day-to-day software development, with a demonstrated commitment to staying current with rapidly evolving AI tools, capabilities, and engineering practices.
Ability to independently navigate ambiguous problems, develop a technical approach, and drive projects through completion.
Strong understanding of web technologies, including browser behavior, performance, debugging, and web APIs.
A strong sense of ownership and accountability, including proactively communicating with stakeholders, identifying blockers and risks, and following work through to its outcome.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts, build alignment, and work effectively across teams.
Experience applying software design patterns and engineering best practices thoughtfully.
Ability to understand business objectives and make engineering decisions that balance impact, effort, risk, and long-term maintainability.
Experience leading significant projects or features from concept through launch and measuring their results.
Experience working in AdTech or a strong understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem. Experience with technologies such as header bidding, Prebid.js, Google Ad Manager, identity, regulatory, or programmatic advertising is a plus.

The base salary range for this position is $165,000-$200,000. The range provided is Raptive’s reasonable estimate of the annualized base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, geographic location, knowledge, skills and abilities. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation that isn’t included in the posted range.
