About the Role
We are looking for a General Manager Commercial to join our Retail division in a critical senior leadership position. Reporting directly to the Chief Customer Officer, you will take ownership of Red Energy's commercial performance driving revenue, operating costs, margin, pricing execution, and product profitability across our retail portfolio.
In this role, you will bring the commercial capability, insight, and discipline required to ensure benefit realisation, optimise project and resource prioritisation, influence executive decision-making, and support sustainable business growth.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the pricing, forecasting, and commercial budgeting teams, partnering closely with Snowy Hydro’s Trading and Generation teams to reflect wholesale market conditions in retail decisions.
- Evaluate new business propositions, products, and growth opportunities, providing commercial challenge, resource prioritisation, and modeling for major investments.
- Collaborate closely with the GM Strategy and Growth to assess new commercial propositions and evaluate expansion into adjacent markets.
- Build, mentor, and lead the Commercial team, strengthening commercial discipline across the enterprise while acting as a key contributor to the Red Energy senior leadership team.
- Establish robust commercial governance, manage business risks, and deliver actionable reporting to support Executive, Committee, and Board-level decision-making.
What we’re looking for:
- Significant executive experience leading commercial management, pricing, financial analysis, planning, and business performance within a complex organisation.
- Proven track record of delivering commercial outcomes and solving complex problems in a highly regulated environment (retail energy experience is highly regarded).
- Deep expertise in pricing, commercial modeling, profitability analysis, and project/resource prioritisation.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the credibility to influence cross-functional decision-making and present to Executive and Board levels.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
