About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional strategic leader to fill the newly created role of General Manager Strategy and Growth. Reporting directly to the Chief Customer Officer, you will lead Red Energy’s customer and growth strategy, translating long-term vision into actionable, high-impact outcomes.
You will drive our strategic roadmap to scale up our retail market share. As a part of this strategy, you will identify new propositions, evaluate adjacent market opportunities, and structure strategic partnerships that strengthen customer value and deliver sustainable, cost-effective growth.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the development and evolution of Red Energy’s 10-year customer and growth strategy in partnership with the CCO and Retail senior leadership team, ensuring alignment with Snowy Hydro’s corporate strategic plan.
- Translate strategic priorities into a clear pipeline of growth initiatives, evaluating adjacent retail markets and prospective corporate partnerships.
- Build robust business cases for new propositions, defining strategic rationale and partner economic models while collaborating with Customer, Technology, Finance, Regulatory, Legal, and Risk functions.
- Articulate clear strategic stories, actionable roadmaps, and high-impact insights to influence senior executives and present directly to the Board.
- Build and nurture critical cross-functional relationships across the Snowy Group, leading investment negotiations and external industry partnerships to expand market reach.
- Lead a practical, future-focused team, creating clarity from ambiguity and championing a culture of curiosity, innovation, and strategic collaboration across the enterprise.
What we’re looking for:
- Significant senior leadership experience in strategy, growth, business development, or customer propositions within a complex customer focused business.
- Proven experience within energy, utilities, or other regulated consumer sectors, paired with a deep understanding of customer, market, and regulatory dynamics.
- A track record of taking strategic concepts through rigorous evaluation, business case development, and real world implementation favouring practical, high impact plans over theoretical frameworks.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to influence across functional boundaries and present complex strategic decisions to the Executive and Board.
- High level problem solving ability with a track record of driving long term economic value and defining cost effective growth paths.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Economics, Strategy, or a related discipline.
