Relativity Space is an American launch company founded in 2015 that set out to manufacture rockets primarily through very large metal three-dimensional printing rather than conventional fabrication. After launching the small Terran 1 vehicle once in 2023, it cancelled that programme to concentrate entirely on Terran R, a larger partially reusable rocket aimed at the medium-lift commercial and government market. Headquartered in Long Beach, California with test facilities at Stennis Space Center, the company was recapitalised in 2025 under new leadership from Google's former chief executive Eric Schmidt.

At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. But that’s just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation, pioneering progress that reaches beyond the known.

Joining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. Here, you're not just executing tasks; you're solving problems that haven’t been solved before, helping develop a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up. Whether you’re in propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or a corporate function, you’ll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand, and your voice will help define the stories we’re writing together. Now is a unique moment in time where it’s early enough to leave your mark on the product, the process, and the culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and picking up momentum. The most meaningful work of your career is waiting. Join us.

About the Team:

At Relativity Space, our Production Control Team plays a mission-critical role in bringing Terran R to life. This team is responsible for planning and scheduling the entire product lifecycle-from initial components and engine builds to full-stage vehicle integration. What makes our team unique is the depth and extensiveness of our influence across the organization. We work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Program Management, Engineering, and Leadership to ensure that every part, assembly, and milestone is aligned with the bigger picture. We thrive in an environment where no two days are the same, and where adaptability, ownership, and curiosity are essential. Whether it’s building capacity models from scratch, creating rate-based schedules for a new production line, or driving alignment across multiple hardware owners, this team is empowered to lead and deliver clarity where it’s needed most. If you’re energized by the idea of scheduling the future of spaceflight, being a core driver of operational readiness, and collaborating with some of the most innovative teams in the industry-then this is the team for you.

About the Role:

In this role, we are seeking an experienced Production Planner to join our growing team and play a key role in transforming our manufacturing operation into a high-output, rate-based system. This individual will own and drive planning deliverables tied to production execution, schedule transparency, and build readiness, while helping define scalable processes that support production rate acceleration.

  • Develop and maintain integrated production schedules that support end-to-end planning-from raw material to final assembly
  • Identify and mitigate risks tied to part shortages, late drawing releases, process planning gaps, and supply constraints
  • Actively manage Clear to Build processes, owning shortage resolution and collaborating cross-functionally to unblock constraints
  • Support scalable and automated planning solutions that drive efficiency, repeatability, and transparency across the build lifecycle
  • Partner with engineering, supply chain, and production teams to ensure alignment to build milestones and mitigate delivery risk
  • Continuously improve planning tools, reporting, and communication methods to enhance visibility and enable rapid decision-making
  • Contribute to planning strategies that enable rapid manufacturing and seamless integration within a fast paced, high-complexity

About You:

  • 3+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations
  • Strong understanding of MRP systems, BOM structures, and production control fundamentals.
  • Experience supporting or scaling high-mix, complex manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and navigate ambiguity with confidence
  • Proficiency in schedule management, risk identification, and cross-functional coordination

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Aerospace, automotive, or high-rate manufacturing experience
  • Experience with rate-based production transitions or new product introduction
  • Exposure to digital planning tools and/or planning automation initiatives
  • Familiarity with Clear to Build methodologies and shortage management
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • SQL query experience is a plus for supporting data-driven planning and reporting
