Senior Document Controller
Salary: R30 000 - R32 000 per month
Our client is looking for two experienced Senior Document Controllers to hit the ground running on live construction and engineering projects. In this role, you will own the document control function, set the standard for project information management, and support the project team through to completion and handover. Full onboarding to company processes and client systems will be provided.
What you will do
- Manage the project Common Data Environment (CDE), including set-up, folder structures, permissions and workflows
- Maintain master document and drawing registers, revision control and transmittals
- Enforce naming conventions and metadata in line with ISO 19650 and client requirements
- Process and track RFIs, technical submittals, RAMS and design reviews, chasing overdue approvals
- Train and support subcontractors and project staff on the CDE and document control procedures
- Produce weekly and monthly document control reports for project leadership
- Support the collation and QA of handover information, including O&M manuals, H&S files and Regulation 38 information
- Support internal and client audits, ensuring full traceability of project information
- Mentor and guide junior document controllers where required
What we are looking for
- At least 5 years of document control experience on construction or engineering projects, including senior or lead responsibility
- Strong working knowledge of at least one major CDE: Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Procore, Asite, Dalux or Aconex
- Good understanding of ISO 19650 and project information standards
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and confidence working with all levels of a project team
Nice to have
- Experience with main contractors or on data centre, pharmaceutical or mission-critical projects
- Familiarity with handover requirements and the Building Safety Act golden thread
- Power BI or similar reporting tools
