Full Stack Software Engineer

Job Description

Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience

Location Wotton-under-edge, Gloucestershire

Hybrid working 3 days/week onsite (no public transport available)

We are looking for a talented Full Stack Developer to join our team and help design, develop and support modern digital solutions that underpin key business processes. Working across front-end, back-end and cloud technologies, you will contribute to the delivery of scalable, secure and high-performing applications while embracing AI-enabled development practices.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with modern technologies including .NET, Azure, APIs, cloud platforms and AI-powered development tools within a collaborative and innovative environment.

Design, develop and maintain full-stack web applications using C#/.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular or Next.js.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support Azure Function Apps, Logic Apps and cloud-native services.

• Build and consume RESTful APIs and support the integration of systems and services.

• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product managers and fellow developers to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Ensure applications are secure, scalable, maintainable and performant.

• Write clean, well-structured and well-documented code.

• Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, deployment and continuous improvement activities.

• Troubleshoot issues, monitor application performance and support ongoing enhancements.

• Actively apply AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality and testing.

• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and software engineering best practices.

Key requirements

• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for software development.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

• Experience communicating and collaborating using Microsoft Teams or similar collaboration tools.

• Experience developing web applications using C#/.NET Core and modern JavaScript frameworks.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.

• Understanding of microservices, API design and integration patterns.

• Experience using Git and modern CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

• Good understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns and secure coding practices.

• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests.

• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.

• Experience using AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot or equivalent.

• Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Desirable requirements

• Experience with iPaaS and digital orchestration platforms such as Azure Logic Apps, Conscia, Boomi or Celigo.

• Experience working with low-code and no-code platforms.

• Experience designing and optimising prompts for AI-assisted development workflows.

• Knowledge of messaging technologies, including Service Bus and message queues.

• Experience supporting and troubleshooting build and deployment pipelines.

• Experience monitoring application health, performance and reliability.

• Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.

• Experience working with content management systems such as Sitecore, Contentstack or Adobe Experience Manager.

• Experience with SQL Server, Cosmos DB or other database technologies.

• Ability to take ownership of projects and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
