Salary up to £35,000 depending on experience

Renishaw is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Analyst to support the development and improvement of manufacturing systems, reporting and digital solutions across Group Manufacturing operations in the UK, Ireland and India.

This varied role combines data analysis, business intelligence, application development, systems support and continuous improvement. Working with manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing, finance and other business teams, you will translate operational requirements into effective and maintainable digital solutions.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for someone with relevant technical experience and an interest in manufacturing, data and digital technology to develop their career within a global engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to understand operational challenges, define requirements and establish the expected business benefits.

• Develop and support reports, dashboards and data solutions using SQL Server Reporting Services and Power BI.

• Write, test and maintain SQL queries to extract, transform and present data from manufacturing and business systems.

• Create and support Power Apps, Power Automate workflows and SharePoint-based solutions.

• Provide accessible and reliable reporting tools that enable users to analyse operational performance and make informed decisions.

• Support and improve existing reports, applications, automated processes and manufacturing-system solutions.

• Investigate data-quality and system issues, reconciling information across multiple data sources.

• Improve manual or inefficient processes through the appropriate use of data, reporting and automation.

• Manage assigned requests according to agreed priorities and communicate progress, risks and dependencies.

• Collaborate with teams across Group Manufacturing and develop a detailed understanding of Renishaw’s manufacturing processes, systems and data.

Key requirements

• Experience or demonstrable knowledge in data analysis, reporting, systems development or process improvement.

• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

• Experience with Power BI or another business intelligence and data-visualisation platform.

• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.

• Ability to understand operational requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.

• Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to data validation, testing and issue investigation.

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to non-technical users.

• Ability to organise assigned work, manage competing requirements and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

• Willingness to learn new technologies, systems and manufacturing processes.

Desirable requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a similar technical discipline.

• Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or other operational environment.

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, continuous improvement or lean principles.

• Experience with SQL Server Management Studio, T-SQL or SQL Server Reporting Services.

• Experience developing Power BI data models, reports and dashboards, including knowledge of DAX.

• Knowledge of Python for data analysis, transformation or automation.

• Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate or SharePoint.

• Knowledge of ERP, production management or manufacturing systems.

• Experience combining and validating data from multiple systems.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or other modern data platforms.
