Resource Management Concepts, Inc. (RMC) delivers innovative management and technology solutions to government and commercial clients. We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support Navy clients in the Carderock area of Bethesda, Maryland. This is a 100% on-site position.
We are seeking a minimum 12 years of dedicated hands-on experience designing, securing, and maintaining enterprise network architectures within Department of Defense (DoD) mission environments. You will serve as the technical authority for secure routed and switched campus networks, cross-domain enclaves, DISA circuits, and tactical-to-strategic integration, ensuring strict alignment with DISA STIGs and NIST cybersecurity controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, configure, and maintain high-availability Layer 2/3 local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN/CAN) across RDT&E, NIPR & SIPR.
- Lead the implementation and lifecycle management of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VRFs, MPLS, VXLAN, and IPsec/DMVPN overlays.
- Perform hard security baseline implementation using DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirements Guides (SRGs).
- Oversee network device accreditation and support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessment and authorization (A&A) process.
- Administer, troubleshoot, and harden next-generation firewalls and network access control systems (Cisco ISE / 802.1X).
- Interface directly with DISA, military leadership, and prime contractors to resolve circuit escalations, ASI (Authorized Service Interruptions), and mission-critical network incidents.
- Mentor mid-level engineers, review engineering change proposals (ECPs), and maintain precise as-built diagrams (Visio) and standard operating procedures.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of progressive network engineering experience, with substantial focus within DoD, intelligence, or defense contractor environments.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Current, unexpired DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III certification (CISSP, CASP+, GCIH, CISA, CCNP Security, CCSP or GCED).
- Security Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret (TS) clearance to start.
- Technical Breadth: Deep expertise in enterprise-grade routing/switching platforms (Cisco Catalyst/Nexus).
- Compliance & Hardening: Practical experience using SCAP tools, Nessus/ACAS scanning reports, and STIG Viewer to remediate network findings.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related technical field (substantial relevant DoD experience may substitute).
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Enterprise) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
- Hands-on experience with software-defined networking (Catalyst Center, SD-WAN, Cisco ACI).
- Working knowledge of cloud transit architectures (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) connecting via DoD Cloud Access Points (CAP) or BCAP.
- Prior experience configuring and maintaining enterprise monitoring platforms.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $175,000 to $205,000 (annually).
