Founding Software Engineer — Full Stack

Location: Los Angeles, CA - On-site (5 days/week)

Employment: Full-time

Experience: 2+ years

Compensation: $140,000-$200,000 base + meaningful equity

Relocation: Support available

About the Role

We're looking for a highly motivated Founding Software Engineer to help build and scale sophisticated software products at an early-stage technology startup.

You'll work across full-stack engineering, backend systems, data infrastructure, and automation, with significant ownership over product architecture and technical decisions.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys building from scratch, solving complex real-world problems, and shipping production-quality software in a fast-moving environment.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and ship full-stack applications and production systems.
• Develop scalable backend services, APIs, and data infrastructure.
• Build internal platforms and tools that streamline complex business and operational workflows.
• Work with real-time data, integrations, and automation systems.
• Own features and technical initiatives from concept through deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to solve complex technical problems.
• Make architectural decisions and improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Identify high-impact opportunities and independently drive solutions.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong record of shipping production software.
• Strong full-stack development experience, particularly with TypeScript.
• Backend proficiency in Python or Go.
• Experience designing and building applications, APIs, and backend systems end-to-end.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, system architecture, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ownership of products or substantial technical features.
• Ability to work independently and solve ambiguous problems.
• High agency, strong product instincts, and a bias toward execution.
• Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment.
