Job Description

As the Deployment Support Technician, you will partner closely with Project Management, Systems Engineering, and Operations teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for end-users, channel partners, and OTTO. You play a critical role in supporting system deployments, go-live activities, post-deployment optimization, and long-term operational stability for complex AMR solutions. You will work directly within customer production environments, performing troubleshooting, system validation, issue resolution, and user support to ensure reliable and efficient operation of deployed systems. Your success requires a strong technical aptitude, a customer-first mindset, and the flexibility to support varying shifts, extended hours, nights, and weekends when customer operations demand it. Your primary objective will be to create customer confidence by maximizing system uptime, resolving technical challenges, and helping customers realize the full value of their automation investment. While this is a remote-based position, you will be intentionally located near key customer and strategic deployment sites to enable rapid on-site support when needed. You are expected to regularly engage at customer facilities for deployments, go-lives, troubleshooting, and operational support activities. Travel to customer locations is considered part of the role, while routine support within your local area is expected as needed to meet customer and business requirements. You will report to Lead, Systems Engineering.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support on-site commissioning and integration of systems, including hardware verification, network setup, software configuration, and safety checks.
• Complete acceptance testing, document results, and help resolve readiness gaps before go-live.
• Respond to real-time issues during deployment and go-live periods through hands-on troubleshooting, log review, triage, and escalation to engineering when needed.
• Conduct preventative maintenance audits, minor repairs, retrofits, and recalls on deployed AMRs.
• Deliver training to customer personnel on system operations, maintenance, and best practices.
• Coordinate with Technical Support, Field Services, and Systems Engineering team members to resolve customer issues and convey field feedback.
• Manage AMR fleet status, help track repairs, and support documentation updates.
• Communicate with customer teams, ensuring visibility into deployment status and issue resolution.
• Support after-hours or on-call coverage as required during the project.

The Essential: You will have:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Legal authorization to work in US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
• Ability to travel across the U.S. and Canada (60-70% of the time).
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• Typically requires a minimum of 1 yearof related experience.
• Associate's degree in electrical engineering technology, Industrial Automation, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in technical field service, industrial automation, IT/OT support, robotics, or related discipline.
• Hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Basic familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu).
• Working knowledge of networking concepts, including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, IP addressing, and general connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience with AMR/AGV systems integration.
• Experience working directly with clients and end-users in operational environments.
• Experience training users on automated equipment or software.

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $50,960.00 - 76,440.00 USD with an annual target bonus of 4% of base salary. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
