About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Presales Engineer / Technical Sales Engineer to join our Telco team in India or Nigeria. This is a unique opportunity to shape Sand’s presence in the region.
You’ll partner with customers to identify opportunities, drive technical success through proof-of-concepts (PoCs), solution demos, and consultative engagement, and act as the technical bridge between our sales, product, and engineering teams. We’re looking for someone who is approachable and can converse with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and someone who also has strong technical skills.
Experience in prototyping and building in Replit, Miro or similar is highly desirable. We want a generalist who can quickly adapt to different industries and apply lessons learned across Telco industry initiatives.
What you’ll do
Strategic Relationship & Account Growth
- Build Trusted Partnerships: Develop long-term relationships with technical, operational, and C-level stakeholders across key accounts.
- Drive Account Expansion: Partner with Account Leads to uncover new use cases, align with customer strategic goals, and expand SAND’s footprint.
- Represent SAND: Act as a strategic advisor in customer workshops, executive briefings, and industry events.
Discovery, Demos & Solution Design
- Scope & Architect: Conduct customer discovery and workshops to design tailored AI, data analytics, and digital twin solutions.
- Deliver Demos: Create and present live, customized demonstrations of Sand Products & prototype capabilities for technical and executive audiences.
- Lead PoCs: Design and/or guide high-impact Proof of Concepts in telecommunications, industrial and energy environments, ensuring direct alignment with customer KPIs.
Proposal Support & Cross-Vertical Delivery
- Win Bids: Collaborate with Sales and Delivery teams to draft technical architectures, proposals, and responses for RFPs/tenders.
- Cross-Vertical Frameworks: Apply learnings across Healthcare, Water, Telecom, and Energy to build reusable accelerators and best practices.
- Post-Sale Growth: Support existing clients with solution optimization, data architecture guidance, and adoption of new capabilities.
- Technology Advocacy: Stay ahead of trends in AI infrastructure, IoT, telemetry, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and cybersecurity to guide clients strategically.
Who you are
- 5+ years in presales, solution engineering, or technical consulting driving enterprise AI, data, or digital transformation projects.
- Proven background in Telecommunications industry with exposure to RAN planning, Tools used and current market conditions.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), modern data architectures (data lakes/warehouses, ETL/ELT, streaming, APIs), and tools like Replit,Miro, or similar.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear business outcomes for C-suite audiences.
- An agile, problem-solving mindset comfortable navigating ambiguity across multiple industry verticals.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Data Science. AWS/Azure Solution Architect certifications and Databricks experience are strong pluses.
- Ability to be on-site in Delhi, India or Lagos, Nigeria.
