Sanofi is a French pharmaceutical company formed in 1973 and assembled over five decades through a long series of mergers including Synthelabo, Aventis and Genzyme. It is now built around immunology and rare disease, with Dupixent for atopic dermatitis and asthma as by far its largest product, alongside a substantial vaccines division covering influenza, meningitis and the respiratory syncytial virus antibody Beyfortus. Headquartered in Paris, the group has sharpened its focus in recent years by separating its consumer healthcare business into the standalone company Opella and directing research spending toward biologics and immune science.

Job title: Executive Assistant, Gen Meds

Location: Morristown, NJ

About the job

Join the team transforming how healthcare is delivered for chronic and specialty conditions worldwide. In General Medicines, you’ll help drive meaningful outcomes in diabetes, transplant, and immunology - with the scale and urgency patients deserve.

Overview:

The Gen Med Executive Associate serves as a strategic support partner to the Head of General Medicines (Gen Med) North America, one of Sanofi's most critical commercial franchises. This is not a traditional support role - it's a position for someone willing to learn the business, who anticipates needs before they arise, and helps translate leadership priorities into action across a complex, matrixed organization. The successful candidate will operate as an extension of the executive, exercising judgment, managing ambiguity, and driving operational excellence that directly enables the leadership team to focus on growth, patients, and strategic decision-making.

  • Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the Head of Gen Med NA, providing context, insights, and recommendations to inform prioritization of topics and decision-making

  • Anticipate business needs and proactively manage competing priorities across the leadership agenda, ensuring alignment with Gen Med NA's strategic objectives

  • Serve as a gatekeeper and air-traffic controller for the executive's time, ensuring focus remains on the highest-impact priorities

About Sanofi

We’re an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company committed to improving people’s lives and delivering compelling growth. Our deep understanding of the immune system - and innovative pipeline - enables us to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world. Together, we chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives.

Main responsibilities:

Executive & Leadership Team Operations

  • Own the end-to-end management of complex, multi-time-zone calendars, proactively resolving conflicts based on business priority

  • Orchestrate leadership team cadence - business reviews, town halls, off-sites, and strategic planning sessions - including content coordination with cross-functional partners

  • Coordinate complex domestic and international travel with full logistical ownership, including contingency planning

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain a strong network with EAs and business partners across Commercial, Medical, HR, Finance, and Global functions to accelerate execution and information flow

  • Represent the Head of Gen Med NA's office with polish and credibility in interactions with senior internal and external stakeholders

  • Facilitate communication and coordination across the extended leadership team to ensure alignment on priorities and messaging

Operational Excellence & Governance

  • Manage confidential and sensitive business information (organizational, financial, personnel) with the highest level of discretion

  • Oversee expense management, and vendor coordination for the leadership office in compliance with Sanofi policy

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the Gen Med NA leadership office

  • Support workforce planning logistics, onboarding of senior hires, and organizational announcements

About you

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting senior executives (VP level or above preferred) ideally within a large, matrixed, global organization

  • High school diploma/Bachelor's preferred

  • Demonstrated business acumen - able to understand strategic priorities, market dynamics, and organizational context, not just manage logistics

  • Exceptional judgment and ability to operate with autonomy and discretion in ambiguous, fast-moving situations

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly and concisely

  • Track record of successfully managing multiple high-stakes priorities under pressure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences, with familiarity with commercial/Gen Med operations

  • Familiarity with Sanofi's internal tools and systems (e.g., Concur, ServiceNow, Workday)

  • Experience operating in a global, multicultural environment across time zones

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

Competencies:

  • Strategic Thinker - Understands the "why" behind priorities and connects the dots across the business

  • Proactive & Anticipatory - Operates several steps ahead, not reactively

  • Trusted Partner - Builds credibility and influence with senior stakeholders

  • Discreet & High-Integrity - Handles the most sensitive matters with total trust

  • Master Orchestrator - Manages complexity and competing demands with calm precision

  • Adaptable & Resilient - Thrives amid ambiguity and organizational change

  • Continuous Improver - Actively seeks ways to improve efficiency and impact

Why Choose Us?

  • Bring the miracles of science to life alongside a supportive, future-focused team.

  • Discover endless opportunities to grow your talent and drive your career, whether it’s through a promotion or lateral move, at home or internationally.

  • Enjoy a thoughtful, well-crafted rewards package that recognizes your contribution and amplifies your impact.

  • Take good care of yourself and your family, with a wide range of health and wellbeing benefits including high-quality healthcare, prevention and wellness programs and at least 14 weeks’ gender-neutral parental leave.
