This position will provide new nuclear project management, consulting and technical advisory support to clients and partners across Europe and Central Asia. The role will be accountable for project execution, international multidisciplinary team coordination, client engagement, and delivery of technical expertise in project development activities supporting new nuclear development services. It will draw on practical nuclear plant operations, commissioning, operational readiness, and SMR experience to translate client needs into well-scoped work, sound recommendations, and executable project plans.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned projects and program workstreams from scoping through closeout, with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, reporting, and client satisfaction.
  • Support / lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate resources across engineering, operations, commissioning, licensing and regulatory, project controls, grid, safety, and other subject-matter areas.
  • Serve as a day-to-day client and partner contact; establish productive working relationships, clarify needs, advise on options, and resolve project constraints.
  • Provide consulting input on nuclear operations, commissioning, operational readiness, operating procedures, startup and shutdown, operator preparation, and work-control practices.
  • Direct or coordinate technical assessments and recommendations for SMR and new-nuclear projects, including technology and deployment assessments, operational-readiness planning, licensing and permitting strategy, and implementation roadmaps in coordination with assigned technical authorities.
  • Lead workshops, technical exchanges, stakeholder meetings, site visits, and project travel; set objectives, prepare briefings, guide discussion, document decisions, and drive follow-through.
  • Prepare and review work plans, technical reports, executive briefings, presentations, status updates, and program deliverables for clear communication to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Lead proposal and business-development contributions, including scope definition, staffing and work plans, budget inputs, technical narratives, and identification of regional opportunities.
  • Ensure project execution follows S&L standard operating procedures and applicable contract requirements, quality processes, safety expectations, and client confidentiality requirements.
  • Mentor and coach team members, support knowledge transfer, and contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery.

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, nuclear science, energy, or a closely related technical field.
  • Ten or more years of relevant experience in nuclear operations, commissioning, operational readiness, engineering, or nuclear project delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience leading project teams and managing scope, schedule, budget, risks, deliverables, and client expectations.
  • Practical understanding of nuclear plant operations and commissioning, including operating procedures, work control, system readiness, and safe plant execution.
  • Strong client-facing consulting skills, including the ability to assess needs, frame problems, develop practical recommendations, and communicate them clearly.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including experience preparing and presenting technical reports, briefings, and proposals.
  • Effective intercultural communication and stakeholder-management skills in international project settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams, make sound decisions, and work independently while coordinating closely with project teams and leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and project planning, tracking, and reporting systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as projects require.

Valued but not required skills and experience

  • Master’s or higher degree in nuclear engineering, power engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with SMRs, new-build nuclear projects, FEED, licensing, safety analysis, commissioning programs, or operational-readiness planning.
  • Experience with CANDU, EPR, VVR and / or other non US Based Nuclear Technologies
  • Experience supporting government-funded programs or contracts, including deliverable tracking, program reporting, and applicable award requirements.
  • Experience managing international client relationships and projects in Europe and/or Eurasia.
