Position Summary
The Production Supervisoris responsible foroverseeing daily manufacturing operations in a startup environment focused on precisionmetalsproduction. This hands-on leadership role involves driving safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) targets while mentoring frontline employees and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic, fast-paced settings and brings proven supervisory experience from metals, machining, or advanced manufacturingenvironment.
Key Responsibilities
- Shift Management:
- Supervise and coordinate all production floor activities to meet daily output goals.
- Provide clear direction and hands-on support to team leads and operators.
- Monitor productivity,identifyinefficiencies, and adjust workflows in real time.
- Safety, Quality & Compliance:
- Enforce all safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and company protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections to uphold housekeeping and operational standards.
- Partner with Quality to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Train, coach, and mentor production staff to build skills and promote accountability.
- Conduct performance evaluations and coordinate cross-training efforts.
- Lead by example to reinforce a positive, safety-first culture.
- Process & Continuous Improvement:
- Support process improvements through lean tools and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance on troubleshooting and uptime initiatives.
- Recommend workflow improvements, tooling upgrades, or layout changes to improve throughput.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Maintain shift logs, production tracking, and incident reports.
- Communicate shift updates, KPIs, and goals to team members and leadership.
- Attend and contribute to daily production meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role within manufacturing, preferably metals or machining.
- Proven ability to lead teams, resolve conflicts, and manage production demands under pressure.
- Solid knowledge of safety protocols, quality systems, and manufacturing equipment.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficientin Microsoft Office and manufacturing software tools.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma preferred.
