The Sécheron Hasler Group continues Switzerland’s more than 140-year tradition in railway technology. We are a global leader in electrical and electronic safety components, solutions, and traction power supply systems for the railway industry. We also provide solutions for renewable energy, DC grids, and other industrial systems.

As part of our rapid growth, we are looking for a Project Manager - Switchgear Construction (m/f/d) to support our railway power supply projects across Germany. Join our dynamic team and grow with us. We offer attractive career development opportunities, continuous learning, and professional training programs.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the technical, schedule-related, and commercial execution of switchgear projects, from planning through to on-site commissioning.
  • Supervision as well as technical and organizational leadership of DC power supply systems within the Sécheron Hasler Group, from the planning phase through to commissioning on site.
  • Acting as the main interface between customers across Germany and the international project team.
  • Technical coordination with design, engineering, and commissioning teams.
  • Procurement and management of subcontracted services and subcontractors.
  • Coordination of customer factory acceptance tests (FAT) at the Prague facility and site acceptance activities at construction sites.
  • Quality management, including the assessment, monitoring, and documentation of project risks, as well as the implementation of mitigation measures.
  • Schedule planning, cost estimation, project controlling, and reporting to department management.
  • Customer relationship management, claim management, and change management.

Requirements

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable qualification. Alternatively: further education as a State-Certified Technician or Master Electrician with proven project management experience.
  • Knowledge of switchgear design, electrical plant construction (medium-/high-voltage systems), protection systems, and ideally secondary engineering.
  • Prior experience as a Project Manager is desired.
  • Excellent communication and commercial skills.
  • Experience in leading project teams, contract management, claim management, and billing/progress payment procedures.
  • Proven ability to coordinate project phases professionally and on schedule, including tender preparation, project planning, procurement, execution, commissioning, and final acceptance.
  • You are characterized by a highly independent, flexible, and reliable working style and can perform effectively under pressure. In addition, you possess strong negotiation, influencing, and decision-making skills.
  • Good German and English.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Germany and occasionally internationally.

An additional advantage would be:

  • Experience working with grid operators, municipal utilities, or railway power supply systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, particularly VOB, HOAI, and VDE guidelines.
  • Basic knowledge of automation technology; experience with IEC 61850 is a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience in the professional and timely coordination of suppliers and external partners.
  • Proficiency in EPLAN and AutoCAD.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office, project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and ideally Oracle and SAP.

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home.
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Long-term career prospects within a financially stable group.
  • Opportunities to take ownership of challenging and technically demanding projects in the railway power supply sector.
  • 30 days of annual vacation.
  • Collaboration with international teams and exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects.
