About the Role
As a Customer Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying, integrating, maintaining, and supporting our software in hospital environments.
You will own the technical workstream of customer deployments and act as the primary technical owner of operational incidents. You will work directly with hospital IT teams and collaborate closely with our Deployment Manager, developers, system administrators, and clinical specialists.
The role combines hands-on technical work with continuous improvement. In addition to resolving individual issues, you will improve our deployment tooling, documentation, and processes so that installations and support become increasingly reliable and repeatable.
Occasional travel to customer sites may be required. Regular after-hours or on-call work is not expected.
What You Will Do
- Plan and carry out the technical aspects of customer deployments, from environment assessment through installation, integration, testing, go-live, and handover.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain the product in customer environments.
- Integrate the product with hospital infrastructure, including PACS, networking, routing, authentication, and related systems.
- Act as the primary technical owner of customer incidents and production issues.
- Investigate logs, system behavior, configuration, integrations, and infrastructure to identify and resolve problems.
- Communicate directly with customers throughout deployments and technical investigations.
- Coordinate with developers, clinical specialists, and infrastructure teams when additional expertise or software changes are required.
- Assess the operational and potential clinical impact of incidents and escalate concerns according to company procedures.
- Document customer environments, configurations, deployment decisions, troubleshooting procedures, and known issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis and identify preventive actions for recurring problems.
- Improve deployment scripts, automation, diagnostics, monitoring, documentation, and internal processes.
- Provide feedback to product and engineering teams based on deployment and operational experience.
Our Technical Environment
Our software is primarily backend-focused and written in Python. Our machine-learning components use both TensorFlow and PyTorch, and we use GitLab for source control and issue tracking.
Customer deployments run in a mix of on-premises and cloud environments, including Hetzner, AWS, and GCP. We use Docker and SaltStack for deployment and configuration management.
Our software integrates with hospital systems and workflows using technologies and standards such as DICOM, PACS, and HL7.
You do not need prior experience with every technology in our stack, but you should be comfortable working in Linux-based production environments, troubleshooting distributed systems, understanding network and integration issues, and learning unfamiliar technical systems quickly.
Gross Salary for this position is between 50 000 - 60 000 euro per year.
