Essential Roles
1. Program Support & Implementation:Assist the Site Coordinator in planning, preparing, and conducting high-quality programming that aligns with grant objectives and supports students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
2. Leadership & Supervision:Help lead site operations, manage classrooms independently when needed, and provide direction to support staff in the absence of the Site Coordinator.
3. Compliance & Documentation: Assist in the accurate and timely completion of required reports, attendance records, child enrollment forms, and other documentation required for licensed child care.
4. Collaboration & Safety:Build positive relationships with staff, students, and school personnel while maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive learning environment and responding appropriately to emergencies.
What You Need Coming In
We don't expect you to know everything on day one. We doneed you to bring:
- A high school diploma or GED
- Be at least 18 years of age, 19 years old preferred
- At least one year of experience working with youth
- The ability to connect well with children
- The ability to work independently and lead others when needed
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Comfort with everyday technology such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- First Aid/CPR certification
- The ability to pass required background checks and meet applicable child-care licensing requirements
- The physical ability to actively participate in youth programming-including standing, getting up and down from the floor, lifting up to 30 lbs., being outdoors all seasons in Michigan weather, and hiking on uneven terrain.
Additional school-age training, substantial direct experience working with school-aged children, and previous supervisory experience is preferred rather than required.
