We are looking for a skilled Mid-Level to Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement, manage, and optimise our infrastructure and deployment pipelines. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Linux systems administration, Kubernetes, Docker, networking, CI/CD automation, Docker Compose, and Traefik.
You will work closely with software developers and engineering teams to build reliable, secure, scalable, and maintainable infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments. You should be comfortable troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, automating repetitive operational tasks, and taking ownership of production deployments.
Requirements
1.INFRASTRUCTURE AND LINUX ADMINISTRATION
ØProvision, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers in cloud and on-premises environments.
ØManage system services, processes, storage, permissions, resource utilisation, and operating system performance.
ØDiagnose system-level issues involving CPU, memory, disk I/O, processes, logs, and network connectivity.
ØImplement infrastructure automation, configuration management, backup strategies, and disaster recovery procedures.
ØApply operating system updates, security patches, hardening practices, and access controls.
2. CONTAINERISATION AND ORCHESTRATION
ØBuild, optimise, and maintain Docker images and Dockerfiles using industry best practices.
ØManage multi-container applications using Docker Compose.
ØDeploy, operate, and troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads, including Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, and persistent storage.
ØManage Kubernetes networking, resource requests and limits, health probes, autoscaling, and application rollouts.
ØTroubleshoot container failures, image pull errors, resource exhaustion, scheduling issues, and service connectivity.
ØImplement container image optimisation, versioning, registry management, and secure image distribution.
3.NETWORKING AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
ØConfigure and troubleshoot TCP/IP networking, DNS, routing, subnetting, firewalls, NAT, and network connectivity.
ØManage reverse proxies, load balancing, TLS certificates, and HTTP/HTTPS traffic routing using Traefik.
ØConfigure Traefik routers, services, middlewares, entry points, and certificate management.
ØTroubleshoot connectivity across containers, Kubernetes clusters, cloud networks, and on-premises environments.
ØImplement secure private networking, VPN connectivity, network segmentation, and access restrictions.
ØUnderstand how to diagnose common issues involving ports, DNS resolution, TLS handshakes, routing, and firewall rules.
4. CI/CD AND DEPLOYMENT AUTOMATION
ØDesign, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins.
ØAutomate application builds, testing, container image publishing, and deployments across development, staging, and production.
ØImplement environment-specific configuration, secret management, and secure deployment practices.
ØDevelop reliable release strategies, including rolling deployments, rollback procedures, and controlled production releases.
ØIntegrate automated code quality checks, vulnerability scanning, and container security scanning into CI/CD pipelines.
ØTroubleshoot build failures, dependency issues, deployment errors, and pipeline performance bottlenecks.
5. MONITORING, LOGGING, AND RELIABILITY
ØImplement infrastructure and application monitoring, centralised logging, and alerting.
ØWork with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or equivalent observability platforms.
ØMonitor resource utilisation, service health, availability, and application performance.
ØInvestigate production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
ØEstablish operational runbooks, service health checks, backup validation, and recovery procedures.
6. SECURITY AND OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
ØApply infrastructure security best practices, least-privilege access, and secure credential management.
ØManage secrets, SSH access, TLS certificates, firewall policies, and container security.
ØSupport vulnerability management and remediation across operating systems, dependencies, and container images.
ØDocument infrastructure architectures, deployment procedures, troubleshooting guides, and operational standards.
ØIdentify opportunities to reduce infrastructure costs, improve system reliability, and eliminate manual operational work.
ØParticipate in incident response, technical reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ROLE IS FULLY ONSITE IN ABUJA.
