AI at SharkNinja

At SharkNinja, we’re building an AI-native culture. We’re not waiting for the future; we’re creating it. Our people are expected to experiment boldly, adopt new tools and continuously raise what’s possible to create meaningful impact for our consumers. If you believe the best way to do your job hasn’t been invented yet, you’ll fit right in.

About the role

We are looking for a technically strong, proactive and detail-oriented Senior Product Integrity Engineer to join our UK team, with a focus on design assurance, engineering validation and product quality.

Embedded within the New Product Development (NPD) process, you will take ownership of product integrity activities from concept through to production launch, ensuring quality, safety, reliability and consumer expectations are built into the design.

You will partner closely with Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Development, Manufacturing and Supply Chain to lead risk assessment and validation activities. You will use engineering judgement, test evidence and consumer insights to challenge designs, resolve risks and influence decisions at critical development milestones.

This role offers broad cross-functional exposure and the opportunity to directly influence whether our products deliver SharkNinja’s 5-star quality standard.

Key responsibilities

Design assurance and engineering validation

  • Lead product integrity input into design reviews, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), design verification and validation planning (DVP&R), and safety reviews throughout the NPD lifecycle.

  • Own the development and delivery of risk-based verification and validation plans, establishing clear test methods, acceptance criteria and evidence requirements aligned with product specifications and applicable UK, European and other target-market requirements.

  • Challenge design assumptions and assess product performance, reliability, robustness and foreseeable use conditions, ensuring risks are understood and addressed before tooling and production release.

  • Evaluate engineering changes for their impact on quality, safety and performance, defining appropriate revalidation requirements to prevent regression.

  • Review and approve quality-related manufacturing and test documentation within your remit, ensuring requirements are clearly translated into production controls.

  • Contribute to Design for Manufacture (DFM) reviews, assessing tolerances, process capability and potential sources of manufacturing variation.

  • Provide evidence-based recommendations on product readiness, escalating unresolved risks and driving corrective action ahead of development milestones.

Cross-functional leadership and quality governance

  • Represent product integrity within cross-functional NPD teams, translating consumer expectations and quality requirements into practical engineering decisions.

  • Lead quality risk and action reviews, establishing clear ownership, priorities and closure criteria.

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain and suppliers to define process controls, quality gates and production acceptance criteria ahead of mass production.

  • Lead technical investigation of issues identified during prototype, pilot and pre-production builds, coordinating root-cause analysis and verifying corrective action effectiveness.

  • Challenge supplier 8D investigations and corrective action proposals, ensuring conclusions are supported by robust evidence.

  • Drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities addressing design and process gaps, tracking actions through to verified closure.

  • Provide technical guidance to colleagues and support the development of consistent product integrity practices across programmes.

Data analysis and continuous improvement

  • Analyse validation results, build data, test failures and relevant field performance insights to identify emerging risks and prioritise improvements.

  • Define and monitor quality metrics, validation coverage and acceptance criteria throughout the development cycle.

  • Apply lessons from existing products to new designs, strengthening test coverage and preventing repeat failures.

  • Improve validation methods and pre-production quality processes, addressing systemic gaps with sustainable solutions.

  • Communicate validation status, residual risks and corrective action progress clearly to senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.

Skills and experience

Essential

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Quality Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Substantial relevant engineering experience, typically gained over five or more years, with demonstrated ownership of design verification, validation or product integrity activities.

  • Practical experience leading DFMEA, DVP&R, technical design reviews and engineering change assessments.

  • A strong understanding of product development lifecycles, design and document control, and verification and validation methodologies.

  • Experience translating product requirements and engineering risks into measurable test plans and acceptance criteria.

  • Strong technical problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills, with the ability to interpret test data and assess corrective action effectiveness.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams, challenge technical decisions constructively and drive issues through to resolution.

  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain technical risks and recommendations to engineering teams and senior stakeholders.

  • Confidence managing multiple programmes and competing priorities in a fast-paced development environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with experience using data to support engineering decisions.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams, regions and supplier partners.

Desirable

  • Experience developing consumer appliances, electromechanical products or other high-volume consumer goods.

  • Experience working within rapid NPD cycles and supporting products through tooling, pilot builds and production launch.

  • Knowledge of reliability engineering, accelerated life testing, statistical analysis or Design of Experiments (DOE).

  • Familiarity with supplier quality processes, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), process capability assessment and incoming quality controls.

  • Understanding of applicable product safety standards and UK and European product compliance requirements.

  • Experience incorporating human factors, usability and foreseeable misuse into product validation.

  • Experience working with international manufacturing partners and suppliers.

Travel

The role may require travel within the UK and internationally to support development builds, manufacturing sites and supplier activities.
