AI/ML Engineer

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. is hiring an AI/ML Engineer to design, productize, and improve machine-learning models that address business challenges and customer requirements. The role supports web-based applications for compliant data management and movement, and includes leading geographically diverse teams and serving as a primary point of contact for AI-related matters.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, test, and productize Al/ML algorithms to solve business challenges. The Al/ML models created should be capable of learning and making predictions as defined by the business logic developed to meet customer requirements. Proficient in all aspects of model architecture, data pipeline interaction, metrics application, interpretation, and presentation. Familiarity with foundational concepts of application development, infrastructure management, data engineering, and data governance. Experience training, retraining, deploying, scheduling, monitoring, and improving models based on iterative user and system feedback is required to support designing and creating scalable solutions for optimal performance. Responsible for leading geographically diverse teams and will often serve as a primary POC for Al-related matters, so must have exceptional analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

Skills

• Active TS/SCI w/Polygraph
• Two (2) years of experience in applied machine learning in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Bachelor's Degree in advanced math (e.g., Calculus, Linear Algebra or Bayesian statistics), Computer Science or related STEM discipline from an accredited college or university
• Three (3) years of additional machine learning experience on projects with similar machine learning processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
• Proficient in all aspects of model architecture, data pipeline interaction, metrics application, interpretation, and presentation
• Familiarity with foundational concepts of application development, infrastructure management, data engineering, and data governance
• Experience training, retraining, deploying, scheduling, monitoring, and improving models based on iterative user and system feedback
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Expert knowledge of multiple programming languages (Python, Java, C++, R)
• Jupyter notebooks
• PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Generative AI use (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.)
• Agent Orchestration, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
• AWS Bedrock
