About the Role

As a SeniorFrontend Engineer at ShopOS, you'll bring world-class UI/UX to life and build fast, dynamic interfaces that power the AI-native eCommerce platform of the future. You’ll work closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver seamless, intuitive, and beautiful user experiences-from AI agents to dashboard tooling to creative workflows.

This is a high-impact role where frontend is not just a layer, but a core product experience that enables creativity, productivity, and delight for thousands of users.

What You’ll Own

• Build high-performance, scalable web apps with modern JS frameworks (React, Next.js)
• Translate Figma designs and UX flows into pixel-perfect, responsive, and accessible UIs
• Optimize frontend performance (Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, etc.)
• Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and product managers to build cohesive features
• Integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs and manage complex frontend state (Redux, Zustand, Jotai)
• Contribute to and help evolve our design system, UI library, and frontend architecture
• Own full feature lifecycle-from technical design to rollout and feedback iteration
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code (Jest, Cypress, Testing Library)
• Bring a UI/UX mindset to frontend decisions, going beyond engineering to shape great products

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience building production-grade frontend applications
• Deep expertise in JavaScript, React.js, and modern frontend tooling
• Familiarity with Next.js, TypeScript, and SSR/SSG patterns
• Proficient in CSS-in-JS (Styled Components, Tailwind, Emotion) and animation libraries (Framer Motion, Lottie)
• Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
• Experience with state management libraries like Redux, Recoil, or Jotai
• Experience working with Git, CI/CD workflows, and collaborative tools (Storybook, Figma)
• Strong product and design sense with attention to detail and empathy for users

Bonus Points

• Experience building design systems or contributing to open-source UI kits
• Past experience in eCommerce, SaaS, or design/developer tooling products
• Familiarity with WebGL, Three.js, or canvas-based interactions
• Interest in building UIs for AI-native products or creative tools
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment with a strong shipping culture
