Senior Backend Engineer

We are building a high-scale Super App platform and looking for a strong backend engineer who can design and build modular, scalable, and production-grade backend systems.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

You will be responsible for both:

• High-Level Design (HLD): System architecture, scalability decisions, and infra planning.
• Low-Level Design (LLD): Schema design, APIs, service structure, and clean modular code.
• This role requires deep Node.js expertise and strong distributed systems understanding.

System Design and Architecture:

• Design a scalable microservices architecture for a super app ecosystem.
• Define HLD for new modules (auth, payments, notifications, user management, analytics, etc. ).
• Create LLD, including DB schemas, API contracts, and caching strategies.
• Design event-driven architecture (Kafka / PubSub / message queues).
• Implement high availability and fault tolerance patterns.

Backend Development:

• Build production-grade services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Write clean, modular, testable, and maintainable code.
• Design REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Implement authentication (JWT, OAuth, RBAC).
• Integrate third-party services (payments, KYC, messaging, etc. ).

Scalability and Performance:

• Design for 1M+ users scale.
• Implement caching strategies (Redis).
• Optimize database queries and indexing.
• Ensure horizontal scalability.
• Handle concurrency, rate limiting, and throttling.

DevOps and Infrastructure Awareness:

• Work with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Azure).
• Implement logging, monitoring, and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK).

Requirements:

• 6-9 years of backend development experience.
• Strong expertise in Node.js .
• Strong TypeScript knowledge.
• Deep understanding of event loop and async programming.
• Experience building and maintaining microservices.

Databases:

• PostgreSQL / MySQL (strong schema design experience).
• NoSQL (MongoDB / DynamoDB).
• Redis caching.
• Understanding of database scaling strategies.

Architecture:

• Microservices architecture.
• Event-driven systems.
• API Gateway patterns.
• Service discovery.
• Circuit breaker patterns.
• CQRS (nice to have).

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Has built systems handling 100k-1M+ daily active users.
• Can independently design full backend architecture.
• Thinks in terms of scale, reliability, and modularity.
• Strong ownership mindset.
• Experience building super apps or multi-tenant SaaS platforms is a big plus.
