Sr. Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who operates at the level of a senior backend/platform engineer and can architect, build, and evolve multi-cloud data platforms. You will work on systems where reliability, throughput, data quality, and scale matter—turning complex data requirements into robust platforms that support analytics, experimentation, and product experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable data-platform architecture across cloud environments, balancing performance, reliability, cost, and maintainability.
• Develop and operate data warehousing solutions and dependable batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Build and improve event-streaming systems that support high-volume, transaction-heavy product workloads.
• Apply distributed data-processing technologies and orchestration tools to deliver resilient, observable workflows.
• Work across engineering and product stakeholders to translate business needs into clear technical designs and production-ready systems.
• Drive architectural decisions, troubleshoot complex platform issues, and improve data quality, performance, and operational reliability.
• Contribute to experimentation capabilities and the data foundations needed to test, measure, and improve product outcomes.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience in data engineering, backend/platform engineering, or building large-scale data systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in data warehousing, data experimentation, and event streaming.
• Recent, hands-on experience building or scaling a data platform at a consumer-facing company with approximately 15-60 million users.
• Experience at this scale is essential.
• Practical experience with several of the following, or comparable technologies: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, and Terraform.
• Ability to reason about distributed systems, high-throughput data processing, platform reliability, scalability, and operational trade-offs.
• Comfort working across cloud environments; multi-cloud experience is highly relevant.
• Strong system-design skills, technical ownership, and the ability to communicate architectural choices clearly.

Domain Experience:

• FinTech experience is a plus, but it is not mandatory.
• Engineers who have built high-volume, transaction-heavy platforms in consumer businesses, such as e-commerce, ride-hailing, or similar large-scale products, are also a strong fit.
