Project Quality Engineer
Ready to put quality at the heart of complex subsea projects?
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Project Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in our Subsea projects, working closely with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and our customers.
You will be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from early customer requirements and design through industrialization, manufacturing and final delivery. Your focus will be on preventing quality issues before they occur, identifying risks early and ensuring that both products and processes are ready before they move into production.
This is a role for someone who enjoys combining technical understanding, structured quality methods and cross-functional collaboration.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Take quality ownership for assigned projects and products throughout the lifecycle, from design and industrialization to manufacturing and delivery.
- Lead and coordinate quality activities such as APQP and PPAP, ensuring requirements, risks and deliverables are addressed at the right stages.
- Participate in design reviews, project gates and manufacturing readiness reviews, bringing a proactive quality perspective into project decisions.
- Identify and manage product and process risks using tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans and structured risk assessments.
- Ensure appropriate validation, inspection and verification activities are in place, including FAI/FAIR, ITPs, MSA and process capability where relevant.
- Support manufacturing and suppliers in resolving quality issues using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5-Why and Ishikawa.
- Act as a quality point of contact for customers, supporting quality reviews, audits, inspections and technical discussions.
- Use lessons learned and quality data to drive continuous improvement and strengthen future project execution.
What You Bring
- A technical qualification or degree within Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Experience within Project Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality or Product Quality in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Practical experience with quality methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans and FAI/FAIR.
- The ability to understand engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements and translate them into practical quality controls.
- A proactive and risk-based approach to quality, with a strong focus on prevention and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, suppliers and customers.
- Experience from Subsea, Oil & Gas, Energy, Automotive, Aerospace, Defense or another highly regulated engineering environment is an advantage.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and relevant quality-management standards is beneficial.
About the Team
You will be part of our Subsea business and work in a highly collaborative environment where Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Supply Chain and Quality come together to deliver complex solutions for our customers.
Quality is involved from the beginning, not only at final inspection. In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence how products and processes are developed, industrialized and delivered.
